What about Matt Mauck? Ring a bell.

Matt Mauck was no better a QB than Eric Ainge, he just had an unbelievable supporting cast. That helped way more than the fact that he was a DT QB. Also the fact that he had a really good running game to rely on was instrumental to his success.

Leinart is getting beat out of his position by a hall of fame quarterback. Kurt Warner is still a top teir QB. I think USC would fare well in the SEC and no team wanted them in the bowl game last year including Florida. If SEC defenses are too fast for pocket passers then why doen't the NFL run the spread where the defenses are even faster.

Dude we are talking about the college game not the pros. And why do you guys think that the SEC would bow down to USC in these bowl games? Do you think USC wanted some of Florida?

So you come up with one above decent dual threat quarterback who played for one of the best teams in recent memory. Good job. How bout that Brent Schaeffer? Now there was a dual-threat quarterback that a fan could be proud of.

Also Brent Schaeffer was pretty good here as a frosh. Hated he and Ainge were in the same recruiting class. But the Vol offense was exciting with Schaeffer.

Can someone please tell me the diffrence in a pro style qb and a spread qb. i thought it all was handoff, throw, or run it yourself. no, i never played.

Spread QBs have to be able to run. Pro Style Qbs make more plays with they're arm. A lot of people think because a QB can run that automatically classifies him as a Spread QB.

I am just saying Palmer, Leinart, Sanchez would be good against any competition. I do think USC and their 11 NFL draft picks wanted some of Florida. A lot of players can run but very few can make the throws. If you are talking about a Steve Young then yes I want a mobile QB. USC has to run the table to get in the title game where the SEC doesn't because of the level of competition of which you are referencing. USC talent-wise gets the players they want and it isn't bowing down to state the obvious.

Please no Gamecock crap.

Why? It's an example of a middling dual-threat that did jack crap.

What about Jason Campbell? That's the type of guy I'm talking about mobile enough.

You mean former first round draft pick Jason Campbell? I don't think he quite fits the mold of a middling dual-threat.

Are you seriously arguing that Brent Schaeffer was a good QB? Newsflash, he wasn't.

I've noticed that pro-style QB's have a lot of success, you know, in the pros. I mean, I guess if SEC defenses are better than NFL defenses, pro-style QBs might not be able to hack it here.

The fact that USC is putting a butt load of players in the league. Kiffin's system is basically what they run. I don't see any negative's in that....just a boat load of positive. A proven system with the coaches we have seem to be a recipe for success, lets all hope.

I'll take what they got, and be happy.
