Kim Caldwell is the Future for LV's

You may think Dooley, but your thinking would be about 30-40 years off. Dickey made a big mistake when he resigned and took the Florida job as their head coach. He had the program rolling down the highway when he coached here. He was a great coach but only a better than average AD.
So the trio of Jones, Pruitt was preceded by who? Dooley is most recent...if you meant Dickey then comparison is flawed as time span is too much for relevancy. Hope you feel better

Time span has nothing to do with the facts and time line. However, I doubt you will fee any better.

Knot shure eye weel "fee" any bettur. Time wuz said to bee two mulch as time framsuh are sew mucho and gayme dienahmick pails een kumpaureesun. Dooley sayme tyme fraym sew more reuhlistick.
Nice trying to help original point made. Did they come back and say they meant to insert Dickey. If not, WHY did I get the ,"Really?" response when I said "Dooley not Dickey"?

She hasn't won a game yet! When she takes us to the Final Four then she will be the Future until then she is just another coach we've had since Pat!
I occasionally search for a Saint Pat, Mother of Breadsticks, meme. Itā€™s been awhile since Iā€™ve found one. Last references in articles are from around 2012.

You had to dig deep to come up with this negative comment. Wow, a one game judgement, congrats.
I did not have to dig deep. Just look Marshall playing an ACC team and getting ran out of the gym. What does that say. Sure her teams play fast and beat lesser teams. I will just hold my judgement till she actually proves herself one way or another.

What was Pat Summit's creditials that was so overwhelming, that made her such a great hire. At least Kim Caldwell's as a new hire is as good as hers. Yet read the name in the middle of the court sometime.

She beat Florida right????

This argument has been made many times on this board but it's not relevant.

Regardless of CKC's abilities and merits, the world of WCBB is radically different from 50 years ago, when the sport was just emerging (and not even an NCAA sanctioned sport), At the time, there were only a handful of established women's b-ball coaches and Tennessee was not in the business of recruiting an established coach from another school for its start-up program . CPS took the job, for $250 a month, when the head coach unexpectedly quit before the start of the 1974-75 season. She also had to wash the team uniforms, which had been purchased using proceeds from a bake sale. We ain't talking about the same universe.

Why stop there? CKC is just another coach until she wins 8 NCs and 1098 games. Let's not our lower our hallowed standards. If CKC does not have the aforementioned 8 NCs and 1000+ wins by the end of her 3rd season, it is time to move on!!!! And don't talk to me about mathematical impossibilities. We don't need no stinkin' math. We are Tennessee!!!!!!!

My opinion is as follows. Caldwell is our Lady Vols coach ā€¦ period. As a fan of Lady Vols basketball she has my support until the teamā€™s performance does not win at the level the fan base requires for her to stay.

Granted the bar is very high given Patā€™s legacy and the history of the program never missing the playoffs. However Caldwell knew what the job and expectations were when she accepted it. My hope is she wows all of us fans with the product she puts on the floor for a very long time to come.

I'll settle for a Final Four. None of the other 2 went. Saying she is this great hire is mute until such time as she PROVES it. Strawmen arguments about how great she is going to be and winning x number of NC is irrelevant. She HASN'T Coached a game here or in the SEC. She could prove to be a great hire, but until such time as she PROVES and WINS games that take us to The Final Four she is just another coach.

For the areas of her brief tenure we can already make determinations about -- her confident personality, willingness to work hard, demonstrated strong recruiter out of the portal, enthusiasm for Tennessee and its fanbase, loyal, strong communication skills, comes from great family, lifelong Lady Vol fan herself, has already gotten the majority of the fanbase excited about the upcoming season, did NOT hire her husband -- yeah ... I think we can already rightfully say she's already finding successes along the way.

Just MO, but success is a lot of things (yes, including Final Fours and championships, of course) and she's already doing SUPER well so far. It's almost unbelievable how well considering the short time she's been a Lady Vol.

In 1974 Nobody cared about women's basketball and nobody watched the sport. She didn't have to have credentials; only a willingness to do the team's laundry and Drive the team bus to games because Title 9 said that women had to be included. So she had the credentials. She was over the age of 18 and she said she would do it for very little pay.

The point was credentials, not what era you coached in. This idea of always picking that someone is not going to be successful has all the odds in their favor. What's the standard, final four in 2 years? So, all the coaches who was hired and didn't make the final four in 2 years was bad hires? There is only 4 slots, so look how often your right. The idea is, does she have the passion, the character, the intelligence, the scheme, and the ability to manage the job. The AD thought so and to be fair, he looks like he knows what he is doing. So why don't you be a fan and quit trying to impress people with doing a job you do have nor the credentials.
