I'll bet ADs and agents have a way to mutually hint at likely openings and guage interest. They've had that figured out for awhile I'm sure. I just can't figure out the Brooks deal. Didn't have to be a back channel to figure out there was a possibility of the TN job coming open. Not sure why he couldn't wait a week to see.You raise some good questions. If I were an AD and 80 percent sure that I'd be looking for a new coach at season's end, I would want to get a head start on sussing out coaches who might be interested. But doing so before season's end would seem problematic because you couldn't just tell agents that you're probably going to be in the market for a new coach, as word would get back to your current coach that s/he's going to be sacked--and that would be unprofessional and embarrassing. Further, even if you used an intermediary to sound out coaches about a potential opening at, say, a "major SEC program," you'd probably only get ambiguous answers in response, as many would probably not say definitively whether they'd be interested or not until they got more detailed information. So I'm not sure how much an AD can get accomplished prior to formerly announcing a change except for doing a lot of basic background research on various coaches.
Kentucky got a head start because it didn't make the NCAA tourney.
12-37?What’s her ranked record?

Ahh yes let’s give her five years to figure it out.If you can coach you can do it on any level, just need an assistant that can recruit. Heck after first year your style of ball will either entice recruits or turn them off, and that’s with any coach.
He might as well mail a bag of to KellieStephens would be a textbook Danny White hire. Fits the bill based on his history.
Doesn't mean he should or would, but she's defintely a winner. Doesn't mean she would win here, but...
If he does it, I predict some meltdowns... but I personally would be excited to see what she can do.
More than likely DW has done his homework throughout the season. He hasn’t just started the search. You raise some good questions. It’s extremely risky. You’d have to surround her with experienced assistants and like you said if there isn’t some immediate improvement, it could have a snowball effect. Kellie had some issues winning against ranked teams, but she was no Pruitt leaving us in scandal and losing records or the track coach that had our TF teams at the bottom. It’s going to be hard to marginally show improvement and positive direction that first season when we wouldn’t be coming from the absolute bottom. I’m hoping this is just rumors.I can see at why DW is high on her. Her record at Glanville and the quick turnaround at Marshall are very impressive. She only has one year of D-1 experience so that makes her a risky hire. If he makes the hire and she starts out bad it could get ugly fast.
I’m calling this my Stephenson chart and will refer to it oftenI think a few things are true
1. Stephenson has made it this deep into the process
2. Other coaches are also this deep
3. She’s not option 1
(4. @brittannica has leaked this information from DW to find the moles)
He could hire a tadpole and I'd give it a fair chance, based solely on his previous hiring experience.Stephens would be a textbook Danny White hire. Fits the bill based on his history.

Sooo by that logic Kellie who won at lower level Missouri State and Western Carolina fits that bill? I mean she could win at the level, right? If you can coach you can do it on any level, just need an assistant that can recruit. Heck after first year your style of ball will either entice recruits or turn them off, and that’s with any coach.
I know how NIL works. Never said it was the university.NIL isn’t paid by the University nor are the student-athletes employees of the University. NIL is basically endorsements offered by Collectives in exchange for autographs, appearances, etc. or endorsements offered by local businesses (like Wiegels, etc) or endorsements offered by larger businesses. They can also earn money from special t-shirts, etc.
Unionizing doesn’t fit this…striking doesn’t fit this, bargaining contracts doesn’t fit this…
On paper it's similar to his hire of Leipold at Buffalo. Leipold had won multiple D3 titles and rarely lost at UW-Whitewater and he made the bold decision to call him up to FBS. Immediate success at Buffalo.I can see at why DW is high on her. Her record at Glanville and the quick turnaround at Marshall are very impressive. She only has one year of D-1 experience so that makes her a risky hire. If he makes the hire and she starts out bad it could get ugly fast.
I believe donors are entitled a holes…I know most of you won’t believe me… but…. tonight I spoke with a friend who is a donor….and it turns out a large number of donors who give A LOT have been unhappy with Kellie and Jon….who have not been warm, remember donor names, etc. like Pat did. They have been complaining to DW. So, finally, DW talked with the players, who had nothing much good to say about Kellie and Jon.
It’s hard to believe because Kellie’s publicist persons is all smiles.
Keep in mind Danny loves up and comers. I.e. Huepel. He’s typically has a good eye.
But yet again, I’m NOT SAYING it’s the Marshall coach. I’m saying that is the buzz.
