I just want to say that I don't think it's Kim Caldwell and she's not even my personal choice for the job. But if we do have to go the mid major route then she's my pick.

Actually, this is a fair point. It’s the amateur Lady Vol fans who seem to think Caldwell could cut it by adhering to the same Nate Oats-esque trajectory that Danny White was able to shepherd at places like Buffalo. That rubs me the wrong way by completely missing that, ya know, this is Tennessee and we’ve won 8 national championships. Swear to god some people act like we’ve become the Sisters of the Poor. It’s nuts.

I think what gets me more than the ignorance described above is the JohnnyPaynes of the world, who seemingly have the emotional regulation of young teens. They’re upset that Kellie got fired, and they’re so invested in proving Danny wrong that they’d much rather get an opportunity to say “told ya so” in a future where Kellie’s replacement doesn’t pan out than watch the program return to its former glory because Danny made the right call by dismissing Kellie. That’s why he and others who share his disposition have flooded this thread with negativity and trash talk about our AD.

The rest of us want the Lady Vols to be successful and a powerful representation of what makes the University of Tennessee such a unique and wonderful place. The doom and gloom brigade just wants to be right by proving that Danny White was wrong. Sad.

BIG fish = confirmed leak tomorrow before the women's championship game. Get the unpaid media when all the eyes are on the sport. Will be talked about during the pre-game, etc. by ESPN crew (given the number of former Lady Vols on it).

Regular fish = Monday

Marshall fish = Tuesday

Past Tuesday = disband the program. It's OVA'

It’s true that you’ve kept posting speculation and saying it was fact. Its true that you keep saying the hire will be underwhelming and you’re clearly mad about KJH getting fired and you don’t like Danny White.
It’s all there. Just a few examples are below. You accusing White of leaking a coaches name to the media wasn’t a lie I guess? You can prove that he did that?
Also, “it’s what I’m hearing”.

I was actually thinking we wait until after the women's final no matter what. Possibly the men's as well. Just so as not to take any shine from the game.

I think it really does depend on the caliper of the hire. You can't beat free media if the hire is big. Would be a huge boost to the coach with players in the portal (who most certainly will be watching the game). To your point though, you most certainly can wait until after (and if it's a big fish it's still going to rock the headlines) OR disappear from the headlines quickly if it's not popular. Because I think this AD is very strategic in it's communication choices, I think the timing (tomorrow) will be our next big clue in the type of hire we're making.

I've said mine multiple times, so for those who've seen it, sorry to be repetitive.

My choice is Lisa Fortier from Gonzaga 81% over 10 years avg of 27 wins per year. Only makes 633k/year. Although technically mid major plays tough non con, and won her share against ranked teams.

I hope no matter the size of the fish that it's announced as soon as possible. We have recruits to recruit and current players to deal with too. I think DW knows this and will announce when it's signed. Then have a press conference in Knox next week.
