Kim Caldwell (Rookie Coach of the Year-WBCA) is named Head Coach of Iconic Lady Vols WBB

DW leaking Gottlieb’s name to the media to try to get her hyped up when he hires her looks like.

Again, hope we do well, but this has been a mistake. See you in 2 years after we regret this.
Toppmeyer throws things out just to see if it sticks. He is pathetic and clueless.

Names Names Names...........................

How many of you reacted to South Carolina hiring Staley said, "OH My that was a Great Hire.....she will take that storied Program to the Top!?"

We ALL have opinions...........and yes I know what they are like. Unfortunately it will take a few years to know!
I thought is was a really good hire. Her and Pat had some great games before she went to SC.

Quick update: The inbound interest is very strong for the job this time. That’s the opposite of the last go round. As a courtesy to those coaches and their agents (who are the agents of other coaches) we’ll screen and interview people who aren’t in contention for the job. The list of three viable options may have expanded to four or five, but they are still focused on a primary target who they’ve been talking to for awhile. I think we’ll have a coach by the end of next week. This shouldn’t last long.
End of next week?????!!!!

Molly Miller is leading the Grand Canyon women's basketball program for her fourth season as Lopes head coach after taking over the program on April 7, 2020.

Her team did beat MTSU which is more than I can say to Walz.

Big pass

Communist talk.

If the market dictates I'm worth something. And you artificially restrict my value through regulations, you are my enemy.

Pay them all as much as can be afforded. I'm tired of the boomers talking about the "good old days" that weren't actually good for anyone but a few.
I agree with you but be careful accusing ALL BOOMERS of thinking alike. I’m a boomer. We aren’t all alike.

She’s a very pro Kellie supporter on twitter. She does the podcast with Vol-log, who is also a big Kellie supporter.

Without a doubt they were not supportive of Kellie being let go.
Safe to say the podcast is over or is it now anti-Tennessee?

The bar was set way too high for Kellie and Hollie to overcome. For Hollie it was too close to Pat's time and for Kellie she was expected to do better than Hollie (you could argue "yes" and "no" about whether she did) and that still seemed too close to Pat because she played for Pat and won national championships for Pat. I would hope that the next coach would be given a chance to make the program his or hers and not a Pat Summitt program. That's never going to happen. Pat was one of a kind and to put someone under that microscope is unfair. Tennessee has the fan base and the recourses now they just need to find the right person. I am sad that Kellie didn't work out. You could never question her love of the program, but I always wondered if she had her own vision or if she was trying to be version of Pat. That was never going to happen. Good luck in your search. Tennessee will be back no doubt about it.
Neither of them failed because they were compared to Pat. They accomplished that on their own.

Man, how many times are you going to make this exact same point before you wear it out? It's not going to change. I'm sorry our legal system ruled in a way that doesn't align with your personal belief system.

I'm also COMPLETELY SURE this would be your opinion if you were a uniquely talented high school athlete in 2024, right?

Wow---kids and families would like free cash if you wanted to give it to them? What a shocker.

The problem started with these idiotic programs who corrupted the original purpose of NIL--which had nothing to do with recruiting. College sports has been around for more than 100 years and nobody ever said: "How come we're not all bribing kids with cash to sign with us." Yes, some of that went on a relatively low and illegal level with a few select prospects--but 90 percent of the student-athletes chose schools for the right reasons. Who offers me the most money is NEVER the right reason--period. I don't know who started packaging NIL with a recruiting pitch--but it was stupid and opened a huge ball of wax that NO COACH in America really likes. And why should they? If anybody deserves more consideration, it's the non-revenue student-athletes who are the most well-rounded athletes on every campus--nearly all of whom are only getting partial financial aid.

Buckle up x100!

Remember when breaking news is reported usually there’s a gap meaning interviews were underway as early as yesterday evening into night and this morning. This is what I do for a living folks! Sources are tight and we’re not naming names to the public. Just a FYI, the timeline for an offer to the lead candidate and acceptance/negotiation period may begin as soon as Thursday night - Friday. There’s a strong pool of applicants. We could get an announcement as early as Saturday. You wanted a home run! With the bases full and your designated hitter at the plate what you call that? A GRAND slam!GBO!

Not a big enough program. We need someone with proven success at the highest school level.
I agree and not to take anything away from her but the SEC is tough, night in and out. You have to be ready and have a staff that can recruit. I think that Jolette Law from South Carolina, formerly of Tennessee and Illinois is one of the very best recruiters around. I also have said that about Mickey DeMoss. Pat asked her, "Can you get me the players to win a National Championship?" "Yes mam I can but it will be up to you to win it!" And I hate to say this because I can't stand Connecticut, but Chris Daly is also fantastic. She knows how to recruit. But back to the coach. I think that being too nice to the players and not telling them what you want is kind of a thing of the past as so many people get so offended. I think the coach should be a hard ass, no nonsense person male or female, it doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter if they were a former Lady Vol player or not. GO VOLS!
