At Drury she was something like 180-17 and twice Division II Coach of the Year (2019, 2020).

Not saying that she would be a success at highest levels, but acting as though she can't coach is ridiculous. Basketball is basketball. Recruiting would have to be proven, but you don't win that much without having skills.

For those who don't know. Danny White came to us from UCF. But before he was at UCF, he was at Buffalo. While there, he had to hire a football coach and a basketball coach.

In football, he hired a guy who was a huge winner at a different level of football. He came in and did great at Buffalo, and then a Power 5 team hired him away. That guy is Lance Leipold, and he has singlehandedly turned Kansas around into a respectable program. Outstanding football coach who Danny White "discovered."

The basketball coach he hired at Buffalo is currently coaching a Final Four team. Danny White hired Nate Oats, who was hired by Bama from Buffalo.

Oh, and he also hired Josh Heupel here.

The point is, Danny White has given us zero reason to believe he does not know how to hire a solid coach. He will get it right this time.

He does talk to student athletes to figure out what's important to them, and then he uses that information to develop his search and find the right coach.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy. Just like Heupel, just like Oats and Leipold. They may not be a big name when they're announced...

But they will be.

That's false. That narrative is spewed every time a coaching change happens in any sport. That portal player may be great. But she also may not fit the new coach's style of play or culture. She is not more important than getting the RIGHT coach.

So, stop the freak out. If you get the right coach, then the right players will come.

but if we wait too long and end up with a mediocre coach with no availability in the portal, more seasons of losing. i’m truly hoping DW made this decision with coaches in mind.
