Kim Caldwell (Rookie Coach of the Year-WBCA) is named Head Coach of Iconic Lady Vols WBB

At the time, I liked the Holly Warlick hiring a lot more than I did when Kellie was hire. With Holly, it seemed like the natural changing of the guard. At first, it seemed like she had momentum and that she was the right choice, but the wheels came off the bus badly after a few years. When Kellie was hired, it was like they settled for a low cost option that would make the existing fanbase happy (woman, former player under Pat). I hope they don't make the same mistake again.
Lindsay Gottlieb, Becky Hammon or Niele Ivey. We will rock. 💪

Kellie was a Fulmer hire. He couldn’t see through his orange-tinted glasses and only cared that she had head coaching experience and played for Pat. Any objective observer could see the red flags that she had under-achieved and there was a ceiling she could never break through.

The NIL is now the universal excuse for college sports fans and boards. If we get a player it's because we spent more and out paid everybody else....If we lose a wanted recruit to another school it's because they paid more and we didn't have the money... Hilarious actually.
Correction: if Tennessee gets a player, it's because they are a saint who cannot be corrupted by money and is wholesome and pure...unlike all those harlots who are prostituting themselves out to the highest NIL bidder.

If our tradition and the legacy of Pat Summitt and her role in the growth of women's athletics is not an asset when it comes to recruiting, and getting players just comes down to out-bribing other programs for prospects, and if prospects are just interested in the cash, then the emerging state of college athletics is truly deplorable. And, yea, to a large degree it seems to have got this way. It's seedy--not what college is supposed to be about. All NIL will do is drive up the market for lots of players who are not worth the money--fact.

From my experience the so called old Subaru owners were the folks that objected to firing Holly and hiring KJH with her resume.

I remember that. I guess Kellie only checked 2 of the required 3 boxes for them (or 2 of 4, depending if hair length was also a requirement)

He was told by Joan Cronan et al. to hire a LVFL.

Hell ****ing no. This hire would be worse than Kellie by 10000. She didn’t prove anything in the NCAA tourney by getting beat bad by a VTech team that didn’t have Kitley. Kellie did beat some high level teams in the tourney
so UT would have beat VT at VT?

You would not get a warm welcome on the Summitt .

I love these forums, I read a lot more than I post. I think nobody knows who the next coach is until DW wants them to. It’s fun to speculate and makes for interesting reading. Bottom line is people posting on VolNation myself included has no clue or any influence on who will be hired. Forums is more likely to get someone fired but not hired.

She was good but she went out of her way to be unbiased toward her alma mater. She picked us to lose to both Rutgers and Stanford in 2007 and 2008.
Btw, good to see you back here on a more regular basis. I'm guessing you're re-invigorated by the coaching change?
