Bama can promote the project never been a HC Kirby Smart when Saban heads back to the NFL after this season. There are gonna be several NFL openings and he will get some really good offers.

The only Bama guy we've had on staff in the past 20 years that I can think of other than Sunseri is David Cutcliffe. That worked out pretty well.

Why does it matter if a guy is from Tennessee, Bama or Mars if he's judged to be the best guy available?

Sorry but if he's the best guy available then that tells me that Charlie Strong, Gary Patterson, Tommy Tuberville and probably 2-3 others aren't available. The guys I've named have proved they can win as a head coach.

You're right about Cutcliffe. My point is that Dooley was recommended to us by Saban. I'm sure Smart would be, too. As a UT fan it rubs me the wrong way when we rely on the Bama to recommend a head coach for us. I want Bama to hate us not look at us like Bama Jr. And like it's already been pointed out- you don't think kids are lining up to play for Bama because of Smart, right?

They haven't signed on in a while! Didn't sign on after Lane Kiffin jumped ship, so why would they now. Athletic department in the hole. Not real promising!
