Kirby Smart most likely will replace Dooley (according to what I've heard)

Would you approve if Hart hires Kirby Smart?

I'll bring my squirrel gun and join that fight!

Kirby Smart is going to make a good HC someday...at some place like Wofford. Where is Gus Malzahn right now---Arkansas State. We don't need an unproven coordinator, we either spend the big bucks for a top notch proven coach, or Neyland attendance plummets. Money will talk before this is over.

I think you meant to say.. Boys we aint letting no MORE dammed Alabamians.....

To late for that with Dooley, Hart, Sunseri.

I say send all the bammer rejects we have packing.

Hardly anyone here is wanting this guy. But, The chance of him being called by hart is high. What would be the pro's and Cons of this possible hire besides another bama assistant?

I think before the D's implosion this season it was a done deal, but now I don't know if Hart would survive this move.

This Kirby Smart talk is predicated on the fact that Hart came from Bama but there has never been any real proof that Hart wants to hire Smart. I don't believe the money would be there to lock up Smart for the long term because it would be a very risky hire.

I say we shoot em all, drive their carcasses to the Bama line, and chunk em over.

it would make sense for Hart to cover his boys that way he keeps Sal on the payroll at least when this fails we get rid of all 3

How is hiring Kirby Smart a good thing? Seriously!

Other than a great pedigree, playing in the SEC, being the DC of a perennially great defense and having instant recruiting contacts . . . you're right. No upside at all.

I'd love to see him get the job and then bring in his old boss, Chris Hatcher to be the OC so I could laugh at the outrage and then laugh again when they started winning.

What's the Big Deal with Alabama PPL!!!!!! This Is Tennessee!!!!!

Stop the Madness!!!

The funny part about that is that Alabama went for years thinking that way. Then they hired a guy from outside Alabama and started winning.

Florida thought they needed a Florida guy and ended up with 3 years of Ron Zook before they moved on to Urban Meyer.

Georgia thought they needed a UGA guy, and ended up with Ray Goff before wishing up and finding Mark Richt.

See a pattern here?

Yeah, that says absolutely nothing about winning and losing as a head coach... But I'm sure if we keep hiring Bama coaches one of them will start to win for us, right? :good!:

The only Bama guy we've had on staff in the past 20 years that I can think of other than Sunseri is David Cutcliffe. That worked out pretty well.

Why does it matter if a guy is from Tennessee, Bama or Mars if he's judged to be the best guy available?

Our last two coaches haven't been from Tennessee. Not saying we should hire from Tennessee, but the "pattern" hasn't worked for us yet.

So why even think in those terms? I can't think of a single SEC school that went "inside the family" for their last head coach hire. It's the way of the past.

I'm agreeing with you on that. Just saying it hasn't worked for us yet. In terms of Smart's ability to recruit I disagree. Five star recruits don't go to Bama b/c of Smart. Why go play for Smart at Tenn when they can go to Bama and play for Saban?
