Kirby Smart most likely will replace Dooley (according to what I've heard)

Go get a proven head coach please !!!! One with a track record for recruiting extremely well, and winning !!!!

The best guy out there available that fits the criteria as both a recruiter and winner is James Franklin. The guy has Vandy in the freakin' Top 20 in recruiting, plus he has taken them to two bowl games in a row, something that has never been done before. I don't know what our fans problem is with this guy. The guy is a winner. Given what he has done at a pathetic school like Vandy, just think what he could do with our resources.

Kirby Smart would not be ideal. I would welcome the hire and support him until he proves he could not do the job. I think he would do very well if given the chance. I would look for him to accept a HC job somewhere this year.

Kirby Smart would be an improvement over Dooley. I would support the hire as I think ANY other coach would have had this team 2-3 wins better at least. Smart can coach defense. He is highly respected in college football. I would want Sal gone as well. We need a DC not a LB coach.

You may think he is a douche (albeit I don't know why), but all I know is that he recruits like gangbusters to Vandy of all places, and he's got swagger and he wins. That's all I give a crap about !!!

We need a dynamic recruiter and winner. James Franklin is both of those things.

I'd rather be winning with a guy people think is a douche, than have another "classy" guy like Doo-little who is a pathetic loser.

I seriously don't even know Franklin's history. Did he win before he got to Vandy? Because he sure hasn't at Vandy.

If it is Smart, Sal may not be so bad to keep around. Would help with saving money and he already knows how Smart thinks.

This is what Basilio's blog was about this morning IMO. Said Hart is headbutting against the $$$ donors and my first thought was that Hart wants Smart, while the $$$ donors want the list that starts with Gruden.

And yes, I agree with 87Vol that I would rather have Franklin that Smart.

We're beyond Vandy status in the Dooley era in terms of conference futility. We're approaching Sewanee's tenure in the SEC under this coach.

Agree that Smart would be an improvement b/c well, any one would be an improvement. Can Smart coach defense? Who knows for sure b/c the short guy standing next to him is running the Bama D.
