Kirby Smart pushed Miss St QB

They’re going to get a strong dose of reality me thinks.

Georgia hasn’t competed to a standard lately against anyone with a pulse.
I hope this game is a beatdown one way or another, so that, as you’re saying, one of them gets that dose of reality. If it’s a close one, the media will be drooling over both teams telling us how wonderful they are. No thanks.

Is “high-energy” code for a**hole? Because that’s what he is. He happens to be an a-hole who wins, so people are okay with his bowl-cut shaking, visor dislodging, cuss-my-players-out-over-everything-but-their-reckless-driving tomfoolery.
Thanks for your opinion. I’ll stick it in my file of things I don’t give a shite about.

Long article but discusses how Kirby in March 2016 lobbied the GA legislature to change the freedom of information laws in GA to allow up to 90 days for a response to FOIA request. Long enough to allow the media interest in a particular issue to disappear. And where did Kirby get the idea for this? Alabama and Nick Saban.

Georgia made Kirby Smart college football's highest-paid coach. But at what cost?

Yeah, no excuses bc this should not happen. I wouldn’t balk at there being some kind of consequences for this, but I honestly don’t think the NCAA should go overboard with it. It was a mistake but it wasn’t malicious or intentional. Kirby is a high energy coach, but he has to be more aware and never let something like this happen. I was glad to see that Kirby acknowledged the mistake and apologized and tried to explain his mindset and why he made such a mistake. It’s unacceptable and should never happen, I don’t think he will ever do something like this again. At least not while there are cameras present! 🤣😂🤣
That's a fair summation.

You don’t have to care about my opinion, but I hope you care about the character of your coach and the culture he’s building beyond just winning.
Of course I care. I just don’t agree with you at all. You act like Kirby is the devil as if you know him personally. You want him to be a terrible person. It’s ridiculous.

And that is part of the bigger problem - people should give a shite when a coach or anyone in a leadership role behaves as a hot-headed punk, assaults another person and then compounds the mistake by concocting a made-up excuse. High energy persona or not, his actions were inappropriate and ViBL was simply calling him out.

Woody Hayes approves!

Was there no penalty called?

Sports Talk Jay compared Smart to Hayes.

I believe that Clemson game was Hayes's last game as the head coach at Ohio State.

He and Schembechler at Michigan had some titanic battles.

I do care, I just don’t agree that it makes Kirby a terrible person. He screwed up and like you say it’s inappropriate and inexcusable. Looking at the video I don’t even think he was aware the player was there and it’s obvious to me that he certainly wasn’t targeting the player and this certainly wasn’t a malicious act. However, he should have absolutely been aware but he lost his composure and this happened. Something like this should NEVER happen and there is absolutely no excuse for it, he is the HC and should always set a proper example and he failed in that capacity with this happening. I’ve no problem admitting that it’s a bad look for Kirby and for GA.

Look ViBL responded to me in a smarta$$ way and I responded in kind. It’s not usually in my character to post such things especially on Volnation where I’m a guest, but it happened. I sincerely meant no ill will towards ViBL, we all have areas where we are potentially going to be biased in one way or another, I just don’t agree that this makes Kirby a terrible person, and I don’t think it’s reasonable to assume such no matter how much someone wants him to be. He made a terrible mistake, but he immediately reached out to MSU and the player and acknowledged the mistake and apologized. He also later publicly apologized. IMO this wasn’t a made up excuse, I think he was honestly telling where his mindset was during this event. No that doesn’t make it right or ok, but looking at the video it does feel like it’s the truth.

On a different note, I sincerely wish you Vols good luck against Bama this weekend. I’m very much looking forward to watching this game, should be a good one.

It certainly is not a good look, but I don't think the QB was the or a target. He was trying to get at someone else.

But not a good look. Would not be surprised if there are repercussions.
Is that how you walk in crowds? Just push people out of the way? Not even the same jersey. You're saying it's ok to just push your way through random people?

The funniest part of this entire thread is that the 3-4 Dawg fans on this site come on here and think Vol fans are going to forgive Kirby for being a jerk and then when we don’t they get upset.

I don’t understand what makes you think I’m looking for some sort of forgiveness from Vol fans. I’ve repeatedly stated that Kirby was in the wrong and there is no excuse for what happened. I’ve agreed that he lost his composure and failed to act as a HC should, furthermore that it’s unacceptable, and yes there should have been consequences. Unintentional or not it’s completely unacceptable and it looks very bad for him and the university. Did you even read my posts?

The only semblance of a defense I’ve given is that I disagree that it makes him a terrible person as so many are eluding to. That he wasn’t intentionally targeting the player, but even then I’ve stated that he absolutely should have been aware and should never have made such a mistake. His actions showed a failure of leadership and are not acceptable especially coming from the leader of a program. But it happened and then he reached out and acknowledged it and apologized.

??? Random people? Crowds?

What does how I walk through crowds of random people have to do the coach of a major college football program on the sidelines of a game?

Kirby McSuperCuts better settle his raggedy arse down. So has anything come of this???

Kirby is a multimillionaire with a 1984 buttcut. Looks like that poor bastard who shows up on the 1st day of school with highwater jeans and his mom surely cut his hair. With a Flowbee.
I found a testimonial on the flowbee site written by a passionate customer. While I did not catch the person’s name, I suppose it is possible Kirby wrote it and used an alias.

“I bought a flowbee hair cutting machine from you. I would just like to say I'm still cutting my hair with it 22 yrs later. I can’t imagine how much money I have saved in haircuts. I just finished cutting my hair and thought another great haircut so I wanted to contact you to let you know just what a great product this is. I couldn't imagine myself without it.”
