Thank you, I appreciate you and other rival fans voicing reasonable opinions and seeing this for what it is and not what others, including some media members, are trying to make it. It was a mistake and certainly should never happen but there was no ill intent at all.Screw Georgia
But this is a non story. He wasn’t looking at the guy. No harm was done. I don’t see the issue here.
Yes, even though I thoroughly believe it was unintentional and there was absolutely zero ill intent, he did make contact with an opposing player in an aggressive manor regardless of whether he meant to or not. It wasn’t malicious but I wouldn’t balk at a fine being handed down. A suspension would be ridiculous IMO, but something just to set a precedent that this kind of thing is unacceptable would IMO be reasonable. It needed to be levied almost immediately though, I seriously doubt it will happen at this point.Hard disagree. Even though it was likely unintentional, there should be fine here, at minimum.
You’re alright Dawg.Thank you, I appreciate you and other rival fans voicing reasonable opinions and seeing this for what it is and not what others, including some media members, are trying to make it. It was a mistake and certainly should never happen but there was no ill intent at all.
If it was flipped and CJH did something similar, although he doesn’t strike me as someone who would make such a mistake, I’m positive that my opinion would be much the same as yours.
Penn State didn’t allow anything to surface until after they stopped having double digit win seasons. Just saying, they fought justice for as long as possible and would do it again.Outside of a horrific scandal (Baylor or Penn St), I'm not sure those days ever existed.
Accidents like this happen when you’re going too fast. Now we know why he has a really hard time kicking players off the team.Kirby is a high energy coach, but he has to be more aware and never let something like this happen.
As far as I’m concerned, you’re easily one of the better outsiders on the board. I was very blunt in my original response to you and can understand why it raised your hackles a little bit. All good.I do care, I just don’t agree that it makes Kirby a terrible person. He screwed up and like you say it’s inappropriate and inexcusable. Looking at the video I don’t even think he was aware the player was there and it’s obvious to me that he certainly wasn’t targeting the player and this certainly wasn’t a malicious act. However, he should have absolutely been aware but he lost his composure and this happened. Something like this should NEVER happen and there is absolutely no excuse for it, he is the HC and should always set a proper example and he failed in that capacity with this happening. I’ve no problem admitting that it’s a bad look for Kirby and for GA.
Look ViBL responded to me in a smarta$$ way and I responded in kind. It’s not usually in my character to post such things especially on Volnation where I’m a guest, but it happened. I sincerely meant no ill will towards ViBL, we all have areas where we are potentially going to be biased in one way or another, I just don’t agree that this makes Kirby a terrible person, and I don’t think it’s reasonable to assume such no matter how much someone wants him to be. He made a terrible mistake, but he immediately reached out to MSU and the player and acknowledged the mistake and apologized. He also later publicly apologized. IMO this wasn’t a made up excuse, I think he was honestly telling where his mindset was during this event. No that doesn’t make it right or ok, but looking at the video it does feel like it’s the truth.
On a different note, I sincerely wish you Vols good luck against Bama this weekend. I’m very much looking forward to watching this game, should be a good one.
Thanks, Sigmund. This is the kind of irrelevant BS that rival fans whine about when they can’t beat you on the field.
No one in the MSU program gives a damn. It’s only the Karens on VN who wanna cry about “character” because you can’t rub anything else in their face when you haven’t won since 2016.
None of you care about this. You’re pretending you do so you can feel justified taking shots at a program that has outperformed you for 10 years. You’re clutching your pearls while they can point to a scoreboard, gimme a break.
Apologies, I guess I was in a bad mood. In truth I wouldn’t know if Kirby is an a-hole or not. Heck most everyone can be one at times. Maybe, things get figured out, I gotta think they are trying to address the issues. As far as I’m concerned, you’re easily one of the better outsiders on the board. I was very blunt in my original response to you and can understand why it raised your hackles a little bit. All good.
FWIW, if I refer to someone as an a**hole, that’s more about their comportment and demeanor than their essential character. Someone can have a lot of integrity and many good character traits and still be an a**hole. I didn’t mean to say that I think Kirby is an abjectly terrible human being. I will say that I don’t care for Kirby because I don’t like how he comports himself in the very small portion of his life that I am able to see as a member of the public, but I can’t make a judgment on his character as a whole.
I will say, though, that the trend of reckless driving incidents in Athens is deeply, deeply troubling, and I’m sure it must be even more troubling as a UGA fan. Kirby can’t control everything these kids do, but as good of a leader as he clearly is from a football standpoint, it’s confusing and disappointing that he hasn’t been able to do more to rein that stuff in.
