Until the Vols are able to split wins evenly or better with Georgia, Alabama, & Florida, our current-era record against these is shot-worthy (subtle or not). Hopefully we have the right coach to even things going forward.

Isn’t the subject how these two different CURRENT programs DEVELOP quarterbacks?
Well, it’s not like either program has had a Peyton Manning or Mathew Stafford to work with in recent years. But I’ll admit, I think Hooker has a good chance to succeed in the NFL. And while I can’t say I feel that Bennet has the same ceiling as Hooker, he has been developed into a good QB.

We hadn’t even moderately developed quarterbacks since Cutcliffe was on the staff (Dobbs relied on his natural gifts). UGA has had superior OL and skill players and great defenses to complement whomever takes snaps. Bennett used his weapons and played within himself better than anyone since Stafford and UNDER SMART he’s been the best in that era. Just don’t see the same development arc for QBs. The Vols under Pruitt with JG went to Arkansas in 2020 and couldn’t execute the most simplistic, run-based gameplan. That was a quarterback in his fourth year of starting. One year later, a transfer still getting comfortable with a new scheme is winning games in crunch situations or at least keeping his team in games against superior talent. Just don’t see the parallel with Eason/Fromm/Daniels/Bennett parked in clean pockets with 5 star weapons simply not messing it up.

True enough. Bennet was certainly in a fortuitous situation the last two seasons.

"It's like, a true quarterback is a decision-maker in our system because some systems take all the pressure off the quarterback and they just go really fast," said Smart. "We don't do that. We're a quarterback-driven offense, so can you process the information.”

I’m SURE it’s a coincidence 🙄
That quote cements why Todd Monken deserves the coaching credit for those trophies. Heup’s system puts tons of decisions on the qb. UGA’s offensive success at qb came mostly from talent at other positions, not from excellent qb leadership and decision making.

Maybe I’m different but this stuff just doesn’t offend me. Georgia’s QB position is simply ask to drive the machine and don’t run it in the ditch. And that requires making good decisions. Nothing wrong with that. However I personally think our QB’s must be great decision makers along with athletic abilities to “just go really fast”. CLEARLY…JH is majorly adept at running this type of offense with precision and efficiency. Both can win at high levels …but with ultra talented QB’s it sure is tons more fun to watch the Vols.
This..our games were much more fun to watch..I know Georgia was supposed to have the all time greatest team last year with the highest ranked players ever or whatever...but they were just not very fun to watch (aside from me not liking them) lol

He’s full of it and he’s always trying to creative narratives that make it seem like David and Goliath when his teams win, which is a common thing in sports today sadly. Coaches and players will take any little comment and blow it up to try to keep themselves and their team motivated, this making their victory seem like an unlikely feat.
However, this is simply a moron trying to pump up his guy for GM’s, and we’d applaud our coaches for doing the same. If Bruce Pearl took a subtle shot at Duke and JJ Redick back in 2008 to try to get Lofton some hype for the NBA, I don’t think we would have cared. It’s dumb but it’s him trying to pump his guy up. It doesn’t bother me. I’d take most of what any coach says with a grain of salt.[/QUOTE
While hoping he's taking money out of Hendon's pocket! F Kirby!!

Hooker is steadily climbing the draft boards, Bennett isn't even being considered.

Quarterback driven...

Take Johnny Manziel and remove 1/2 the talent, three inches in height, the fun and personality, and the ability to hold his liquor. Congrats-you now have Stetson Bennett

I’ve found that I’ve developed more disdain now for Kirby than Saban.

I despise Bama, but respect the program and the long-term fans (bandwagon are pitiful). uga? No respect at all. Trash program. Annoying fans, regardless if bandwagon or not. RARE exceptions.

This is when I wish VN had a 'heart' button. Cannot like this post enough!!

Yes they did, in 15 games vs our 13.

From the site you referenced:

Georgia- 4437 YDS--- 492 ATT--- 295.80 PYDS/G

Tennessee- 4239 YDS--- 422 ATT--- 326.08 PYDS/G

They were actually 3rd in PYDS/G. Miss St had 311.23 PYDS/G. Granted Miss St threw the ball 634 times though!
Was about to come back and say this. And Hooker only played 11 of those. He would've definitely had more yds than Milton vs Vandy
