Kirby Smart takes subtle shot at Vols

Eventually Heupel will have to beat kirby. You have to give Kirby some credit he has pretty much shut down Heupel’s vaunted offense in two meetings so far.

I’d agree with that but let’s give JH 7 years here to compare. Kirby had a generational defense in ‘21 & homefield was a huge factor last season. 6 presnap penalties in the redzone were killer.

I agree with you on this. As much as I hate to admit it, Hooker played great last season. Things were stacked against him and TN in Athens. The GA d played very well, the weather in the second half, and Ainge pissed off the fan base. All of these things made it a bit tougher.

you really think Kirby is going to affect Hooker's draft status and that NFL teams are not going to trust their own eyes and their independent scouts? You think they're going to hear Bennett's college coach popping off and scrap all of their research? Come on.

I think this is more about recruiting…specifically Dominic Raiola. We’re not in it for him, but Kirby is feeling the need to downplay new and fun for whatever he’s hawking.

Fair enough. I stand by my statement and I'm still not impressed though. 2 great TEs, loaded backfield, great OL, good WRs. He was sacked 9 times to Hooker's 23. Our system makes QBs have to deal with pressure and make the right decisions and quickly. Not throw it in coverage to a giant TE and let him bail you out.
Your statement was that UGA would run 60%. That is untrue.

Two dead, several arrested, more investigations coming…Kirby has more issues than Vols offense. Georgia is a train wreck including cultural issues and lack of player control. Kirby isn’t a smart man from what I’m hearing out of GA football.

Hooker is steadily climbing the draft boards, Bennett isn't even being considered.

Quarterback driven...

Hook is climbing the draft boards for a reason. What team wants a 25 year old who acts like he is 10?

My statement was their system is designed to make any run of the mill QB effective by not making them the focal point (doesnt mean a good QB can't be the focal point) and it still uses the run to set up the pass. I was probably off on the percentages.

That shot may have been directed more at Lincoln Riley, they are going head to head with Southern Cal for Dylan Raiola and Raiola was just coming off his visit at UGA like the day before.

Lincoln Riley runs an awesome system too. He's had success with it in 2 places and it would work in the SEC too.

Could be. That’s fine. If he wants to be an idiot, let him be an idiot. You’d think his back to back championships would make him secure enough, but he still feels the need to take shots at a team that is chasing him. To be, that helps the credibility of that team. He’s doing Heupel a favor, imo.

Of Course not but it don't change Kirby's narrative

I guess we'll see next year how great his QB driven offense is with a new signal caller and bringing back a mediocre OC.....
