Kirkland Jr. out

My worries for Jumper isn't against Tech or for any particular team. Jumper has proved he can play well at times. I expect him to play well against Tech. I expect the defense to play well also. Colton played played very well against UF and Georgia last year. My biggest hope is the Bituli and Ignont can provide some quality reps and Bituli will continue to emerge. Jumpers problem seemed to be he wore down some as the season went on. But I know he is a hard worker and no doubt I bet he has gotten a lot stronger. The key though comes back to getting some good play out of Bituli and Ignont. I think we will be okay there and hopefully at some point Kirkland comes back at full strength. I still think this defense will be vastly improved despite some already going all gloom and doom. The best thing is the season is upon us and the truth will be delivered on the field. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

Lack of depth in a critical area. MLB is like QB to the defense. Are Page and Reid OLBs? Weren't Austin Smith, Jaquan Blakely, and Ryan Thaxton recruited originally as LBs? Those guys have the size of a MLB, but we probably have put too much weight on them now as DLs. Probably be too slow. We need guys the size and physicality of AJ Johnson to really rough it up inside and have missed that. Kirkland showed some signs of being that type, but he's been hurt most of his time and we better recognize that we can't count on him. Missed most of last year, held out all spring, and now injured again.

Didn't Jakob Johnson fill in for AJ Johnson after he was suspended? I've slept since then, but was he all that bad?

There's no reason worrying about it. We have to line up and let it play out at this point.

We do have a couple of younger guys coming up. Not sure they can line everyone up yet.

We just lost our best, most pivotal linebacker for likely an extended period of time and there's no need to worry about it?

Do you mind please if we discuss it, since there's really no suitable replacement for him? Bituli and Ignont are talented with potential but can they make the calls and line everybody up? Jumper can make the calls and line everybody up but lacks in talent/ability, no offense to him.

The only thing to worry about is Jones making the right call. We've got players.

I don't care if you go outside and hit your knees and cry. It isn't going to change the fact he's hurt. You use up so much energy to argue and worry I don't see how you make it through a whole day.

Just saw this news...So I'm late to the party...

I'm just gonna say... This sucks.

GBO.

I don't want to say that he was awful, but he wouldn't have moved to the offensive side of the ball if the coaches saw anything positive because he had the size.

Hardly new and/or a shock. There are a handful of names on the roster that have a history with injuries. I really don't expect those players to contribute. Instead I look to the younger players and the future.

The takes are rather interesting considering last year.

Hyams was wrong.

An evergreen sentence.

He was "wrong" because the information given to him originally from the training staff was wrong. They originally misinterpreted his X-ray, thought his old injury from a broken collarbone in Highschool was a new one, only an AC joint sprain. That one wasn't on Hyams.

Don't go trying to make sense; it's not the VN way!

Kamara, Kelly, Bituli, Warrior, Worley

Kamara is the only one I would agree with you on. The rest of your list is just playing the results. Warrior wasn't ready to play and no one knew Kelly was going to be so good. Hindsight is 20/20
