Knecht in the latest ESPN mock draft

I hope San Antonio drafts him. Solid historical franchise with the potential to play alongside a possible legend in Wembanyama over the next decade. Knecht could start on the Spurs at SF from Day 1. They still need alot of help in other spots to be a good team but he would be a nice piece on this roster. In my opinion DK is every bit as good, if not better than Brandon Miller is offensively walking into the league. If we earns enough minutes he can be in the 17+ppg average that Miller was in his rookie year. If he falls past San Antonio than I would want him to go to OKC. They could use him and they are already a very good team.

I've seen at least one draft projection with Knecht going to Oklahoma City as a replacement for Gordon Hayward, whose minutes dwindled through the postseason until he didn't even get into the last 3 games against Dallas.

Still can't wrap my head around Reed Sheppard being the #3 overall draft pick. He's a great player, no doubt, but man #3 overall?? He is certainly a prolific shooter.

I have way more trouble with Dillingham. Best case scenario is he's a good 6th man. RS is an all around player, he just needs to fill out physically.

Trying to make himself available for the Spurs at 8 is the rumor.

1. This kid isn’t a PG
2. I’m taking 3-4 kids in this draft before him, DK included

Interesting to see what happens because The Spurs need a PG.

This draft is top heavy with point guards / combo guards.

Unless they REALLY like one of those point guards, seems like they’ll go best available at 4 and take a PG at 8 because one of Sheppard, Topic, Dilly or Castle will be there and available

Spurs need scoring and defense, PG can be found in free agency should never depend on some rookie at that position

Not 100% but I think Harden, DLo, Tyus Jones will all be free agents.

I think a distributor like Tyus or Harden would be good for them. Pair Tyus and Tre together.

PG: Tyus or Harden / Tre
SG: DK / Vassell
SF: Keldon / Julian
PF: Jeremy / Cedi
C: Vic / Collins

Now obviously some of these guys can be free agents as well or traded. Haven’t really done too much digging

I’d watch that team everyday and sign up for whatever tv package to see it

Well I don’t think they are necessarily in win now mode. I think they can take the PG of the future.

However, if they wanna win now, then trading for Trae Young (as they were once rumored to be interested in) and drafting Knecht at 8 (who I think is a win now player) that makes sense

Anyone who watched him at Villanova isn't shocked that he is a high level NBA PG, a hard worker, and a super clutch player, but the ability to take over games is a revelation, even to Jay Wright.

Dallas has recovered with Irving and the team they now have around Doncic, but not resigning him at the bargain rates he was willing to come back for (4-100 !) and letting him walk is an all-time blunder. And it isn't as if he didn't show signs of what he could be as a player in those playoffs when they got to the WCF. Doncic and Brunson would have been championship contenders for a decade.

This is a great post. I expected Brunson to be a solid NBA player but nowhere near what he has become. And yes, it was an epicly dumb move.

He should be a long time double digit scorer per game in the NBA and a solid 2nd option. Pretty close to a sure thing. In a draft with no clear superstars then I'm taking Knecht over anybody but the European kids.
Agree. He may even be better than we expect in the NBA. He has lifted his game on every new level of competition he has played and got better. If he continues to improve his handle and develops a step-back game, he may not be guardable. His ability to finish especially going left to non-dominant hand is impressive. Defenders are going to get so paranoid about his perimeter shooting, but he can score from anywhere on the court and can beat you in midrange and at the rim.
