Knife Attack in England

That's nice, but misinformed and irrational bigotries aside, how have they failed? Comparing their quality of life and ours, there's not a lot of difference.
Brexit was supposed to free britain from a lot of the regulatory restriction placed on UK. but the government hasn't adapted their laws to take advantage, defacto keeping the EU restrictions in place. the area I am most familiar with is their steel production. The brits have sorta kinda raised tariffs on chinese steel, lots of ways around it, but haven't reduced the restrictions on local steel production. which means the net change is negligible.

healthcare lead times are increasing with almost 8 million people having to wait an average of 18 weeks for basic care. and results are getting worse. their health care system can deny the transfer of patients from in the UK system to out of it, if they deem the case is too far. which keeps some number of people from seeking expert opinions which could help.
that healthcare comes with death panels.

they have actively shut down several services for "locals" in order to better serve the immigrants. currently about 30% of their welfare goes to immigrants. no way to say that doesn't impact the rest.
a large bit of that has been housing resources which has increased the average a UK household spends on housing. also increased homelessness

I know you won't accept it but all the aid to Ukraine and Israel is a failure of the government, putting the world's needs in front of their own people.

One other, subcontext, behind Brexit that isn't discussed openly in the media was that it improved the UK's trade relationships with its former Imperial Subjects.

The UK is more unique than its European brethren in that it still has lasting colonial regions that it can connect and engage into economically including not just even Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Caribbean, India, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. but even the United States.

UK exchange some trade power with Europe to get back some trade with these regions. While in the EU, UK's trade relations with these regions had plummeted.

Those are certainly problematic but I wouldn't say it makes them a failed state.

UK isn't a failed state, that is hyperbole. Is it doing as well as it has in the past? Probably not but there have been worse times in English history (War of Roses for example) than today.

you asked what have they failed at. I answered.

if you want to pivot to a failed state that IS a different discussion. but I would say depending on how these riots go, and their government's response, you could certainly see a step towards being a failed state.

I had initially replied to post #69, so it's pretty much the same discussion.

Is Musk a UK citizen?

X owner and tech billionaire Elon Musk has also strongly criticized Prime Minister Starmer for two-tier policing of anti-mass migration demonstrators and Muslim counter-demonstrators, branding him “#TwoTierKier.”

It remains unclear whether the British government will try to extradite Musk for his posts or for allowing support for the anti-mass migration protests on X.

Alice's Final Smile For The Camera: Parents of Southport Stabbing Victim release Heartbreaking Photo of their Little Princess at the Taylor Swift-themed dance class where she was Senselessly Killed

Smiling sweetly for the camera next to her idol Taylor Swift, this is the heartbreaking final photo of Alice da Silva Aguiar before she was stabbed to death during the Southport rampage.

The nine-year-old was tragically killed at a Swift-themed dance class just moments after the image was taken at the entrance to the event on Hart Street on July 29.

She was killed alongside Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven. Ten others were seriously injured.

The little girl's parents Sergio and Alexandra were joined by hundreds of family members and friends as they packed out St Patrick's Catholic Church in Southport for her funeral today.

😂 now that is a reference you don’t see every day 😂 I have watched the White Queen and the Serpent Queen and every docu-drama out there.. England stayed messed up domestically while they fought endless wars and wanted to expand the Empire.. when I watch those things I always understand why people left 😂

It’s the same quote from the dorky UK police chief.

He doesn’t say American citizens.
He doesn’t even say “Americans”.

He vaguely alludes to “people overseas”.

Even if they tried…. I doubt they could. I think the “crime” has to be unlawful in both countries.

If you've seen any YouTube videos all the media does it say there are far right agitators causing problems in the street. The media here don't even report on the chaos. No wonder British citizens are pissed about all this.

They've got a higher HDI score than we do so their standard of living's pretty good. How have they failed?
Bruh..you can't own a TV and watch it without paying an annual tax of like $150. And if you do have a TV you aren't paying the tax on they have units that actively use signal direction finders to track you down and arrest you. Also, most people live in what we would consider townhouses or apartments. Like being middle class? Prepare to get a 40% income tax rate. Nonexistent dental services. Their standard of living sucks compared to the US.

HDI score? 3 points higher than the US and thats abysmal considering how racially diverse the US is. The fact the US is even where its at with our recent generations of third world immigration is actually a testament of how good the standard of living is here in the US.

Upside? They have good beer.

Ah, but what if the knifer is holding one blade in each hand. Or even more heinous.....3 blades with one hand wolverine style? Now he exceeds whatever paltry x thrust limits have been placed on him.

Ultimately we need to mandate everyone to one knife households. Owning 2 knives, or even carrying a knife somewhere should be illegal. Cause if someone steals your knife, well now they have two knives and they can wipe out an entire neighborhood. If you buy a knife for your household, you must turn in your old knife and the new knife has to be carried home in a lockable sheath.
And no black knives. At all!

Lol wut?

There is no Right to Freedom of Speech in the UK.
But there is here in the United States.

I’m an American citizen, here in the United States.

If I go on Twitter and criticize mass-migration policies in the UK, are they saying The Crown is going to extradite me to face terrorism charges in London?
It would be nice to have one of our government useful idiots remind that UK official that not only does the US have a 1A, but a 2A backing it up.

Would be nice to hear, but not holding my breath. Probably too many in the Federal government thinking the guy has a point.

Our 2nd amendment goes, our 1st amendment is soon to follow. That's why the left wants our guns so bad.

Couldn’t agree more with Comrade Starmer here. Riotous mobs, ransacking and rampaging, are not “protests” or “protestors” - they are criminals.

Unless of course they were “mostly peaceful” riotous mobs, ransacking and rampaging - then it would be A-Ok 👌🏻

I agree with all that. Arrest anyone participating in this actions.

I also agree with being outraged by their government and the governments initially misdirection towards the killers identity. “He was born here”. The government obviously made that statement to mislead the people
