if you're paying straight up menu price every time you go to outback, you aren't doing it right.

i had Sweet P's last week and it was great. Slaw and the greens-n-things were perfect. i had the brisket. probably going again next week to use up our last living social voucher and will try the ribs. they destroy calhouns.

and maybe knox area cheddar's suck, but the one in cookeville was always awesome for what you pay.

Full service bbq in Maryville is good also.

It's expensive for sure. But overpriced? Not sure about that. Ruth's Chris gives you a USDA prime NY strip for $35. Outback gives you a smaller, poor quality steak for $25 plus sides. Ruth's Chris is well worth the $10 more imo.

You'll spend more $$$ at Ruth's Chris, but I think Outback is the biggest ripoff, with Chilis as a very close second.

Nope. Ruth's Chris is the most overpriced place I have been to. Everything is a la carte. The steaks are good, but nowhere near good enough to justify the price.

Your point is taken, but slightly invalid. The most expensive steal at Outback is the Porterhouse, and it's 25 bucks (personal favorite). The Strip is between 15 and 20 dollars I'm pretty sure. The only steak I've had there I really like was the porterhouse.

I've never been to Ruth's Chris, so I can't talk about price v. quality.

People actually go to Outback for steak? I only ever went to Outback for the Bloomin' Onion. :)

Best steaks I've had:
Connors
Brasserie
Peddler
Chop House
Chez Liberty

Does nobody know about M&M's BBQ on Middlebrook Pike? People only seem to mention sweet P's and others when it comes to barbeque.

M&M is good. Not my first choice usually, but it's pretty good stuff most of the time. I personally think some of the sides can be hit or miss.

For some reason everything in Cookeville is good.

Last time I think I got the slaw but I'm not too picky about my slaw.

Calhouns can really be hit or miss but I have yet to find a spinach maria anywhere like they have.

I saw someone mention Ruth's Chris

That place, bar none, is the most overpriced establishment I have ever been to.

Interesting. I have never had anything but a fantastic dining experience there. Also, it is very consistent from location to location.

As for overpriced, I would rank Applebee's and Olive Garden number 1&2.

You all keep reading more from my statement than is actually there. I never said it is bad or inconsistent. Just over priced.

Went to Sweet P's yesterday while in town for game. Very good, will definitely go back again.

speaking of pizza, anyone ever go to dazzos on gay street? the owner would literally be yelling at his employees in front of a packed house. dude was intense. but the pizza was fantastic

I like Sgt Pepperoni's. Nothing all that special but everyone has always been nice and the food has been solid.

The reason I ask about tomato head is I'm a guy who wants something other than standard pizza. I saw they had some interesting pizza combinations. I wa wondering if anyone thought it was good. I think I'll give it a shot.

I'm a big fan of Snappy Tomato

I've always thought there was something more to Mellow Mushroom pizza. It's just yummy. My go to is the Mighty Meaty.

He is gone. Sold the business to Martha that owns The Bijou Bistro.
