Knoxville Restaurants

I'd like to try Pete's. It's a shame I've never been.

It's nothing special really, just a place that serves a traditional breakfast. I like it because it has been there forever and it feels good to support a quality business in downtown Knoxville.

It is busy at lunch time. We took our boys there last summer and they still talk about sitting at the counter to eat.

So Man Vs Food is on, and it's the Knoxville episode. I was just watching this and thinking they might could have found better places to go, but when I sat down and thought about Knoxville restaurants, I couldn't think of many places.

He went to Dixons on Magnolia, Sweet Pea's and Ye Olde Steakhouse.

I think he could have gone to Calhouns (even though chained, the main restaurant is on the river and really nice), Gus's Good Times Deli, Ali Baba, or Littons. If you could pick any 3 Knoxville restaurants, where would you send him?

When I lived in Knoxville I liked:

Bahou Container
Hungry Fisherman
Top floor of the Hyatt had a killer Sunday Brunch

i don't know who it was that recommended White Star chilli dogs and Nanner Pudding but hey, Jack (lol).....best I've had in my life. I am now physically addicted to chilli slaw dogs from that place. I don't know whether to thank you or punch you lol. Awesome & highly recommend!!

The wife and I like Puleo's Grill at the Strawberry Plains exit. I have never had a bad meal there.

Try a hoagie steamed on white next time. I grew up there. Used to eat lunch at school at the White Star.

Buddy's used to have 5 dollar meals after 5 on Tuesdays, or something like that. You can't beat that.

They still have that.

Buddy's is very good quality considering its pretty much fast food. Great BBQ. They got rid of onion rings though. What's up with that??

Definitely will do. We moved up to Sevierville last August & have lil' man going to King's Academy so I'm over there quite often. I'm 285 now and they aren't helping me any!

You know what's strange about Buddy's that a lot of you may have never even tried? Their hush puppies! They have the absolute best hush puppies I've ever had. I know that sounds so weird coming from a chain restaurant but it's so damn true. I went there one time just to order the hush puppies. Whenever I head back to Knoxville from Dollywood I always stop at the Buddy's on HWY 66.

Pretty sure I know the answer to this question but does anyone know where you can get a lobster roll in Knoxville or is it even possible?

Look, Buddy's is pretty good for fast food bbq. The have smoked wings that are outstanding. And still the only place you can get a decent meal under 7 bucks. Is it award winning, nope but still pretty good for as much as they serve daily. And yes, the hush pups are allsome
