Will have to try Jackie's just based on the reviews. Looks like old school southern cooking to me which is fine by me. Not sure what the fascination with "Nashville Hot" chicken is but I guess I will find out.
I would get one piece regular fried and get another hot.
As far as the fascination, I think people just like spicy food, and hot chicken is new to a lot of people.
Damn, that food from Jackies was great. I hope they stay this good, for a long time.
Thanks, I do like spicy food so it is probably up my alley. I will give it a go. The sides sound great, more interested in that than the chicken because try as I might I can't come close to making good fried okra at home.
nah...Styrofoam plates and cheap crap on the wall? Worthless, even if the food is good.
The Knoxville hot did have a bit of sweetness to it. That's why I will recommend trying both. As far as the okra, it's the best I've ever had.
Awesome! Best okra I ever had is no longer attainable. Grandma plucked it from her own garden, battered it up and fried it in a cast iron skillet. No idea if it was the "fresh from the garden" aspect, technique, the oil she used or all of the above but I can't come close to it.
Mine is edible at best and disastrous at worst.
A lot of my favorite foods like that.
It's simply because Mamaw made it.
Keeps sauce from getting on your skirt too Nancy
As a wing connoisseur, boneless wings are a no go.
I was in Nashville today and went by Biscuit Love for the 2nd time. Absolutely fantastic for the 2nd time. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
Ok, go ahead and tell us all how and why wings have to be eaten off the bone?
I want a detailed explanation of this.
First of all, they're called wings because the meat is wing meat. "Boneless wings" are really just breast meat.
Second, chicken wings are meant to include the skin. Because it's just breast meat, you'll have no chicken skin.
Third, chicken wings aren't supposed to be breaded. "Boneless wings" need to be breaded.
....Get the Nasty Princess.
So really the only difference between traditional chicken wings and boneless wings is some skin. Both wing meat and breast meat are white meat, and both come off the bone. As for breading, it really depends on how the restaurant you are going to prepares them but there are countless recipes for bone in chicken wings that use flour even if in the smallest amounts.
What is the nasty princess?
