Yes indeed. Knoxville is becoming a destination for cycling as it should be. Now we need a national caliber BMX track back in town. The Urban Wilderness work is having a real impact on South Knox.

last one I knew of, was on Schaad Rd, and its a golf course now

Yeah, bummer. There is a group that is working with the city and USABMX to get a new track in town. Came close last year but failed to get the funding apparently. They are still optimistic about making it happen and with the positive impact places like Baker Creek are having I think it will.

It's the same people that own central flats and taps and west flats and taps. They live down the street from me. It's a pretty cool joint but parking is a mess.

Knucklebusters is reopening in Townsend this Spring, and they are really trying to get a BMX track over there.

Wow that is very interesting, much thanks! I didn't think I could love Townsend any more but if this happens I am moving.

I wonder if they are working with the Knoxville BMX crew?

Not trying to derail (pun semi-intended) a food thread but this is awesome news.

Yes, they are. Teaming up with Smoky Mountain Outdoor Center. Long story short, both owners are good friends of mine and have done other business together. SMOC is a cool spot and worth checking out when it warms up (tubing, outdoor gear). They are also in the process of completing a network of bike trails nearby.

SMOC has an updated FB page with some info on KnuckleBusters. Grand opening April 15.

This is hung above the door at the restaurant at Middlebrook Pk and Bob Kirby Rd across from Food City.

Obviously it's a temporary sign but it could be the name of the place or some secret message.

Thoroughly enjoyed Not Watson's, even though the Chalk Walk had it booming!

Drinks

I had the Laughing Skull Amber Ale. Really great beer!
Wife had the Double Barrel Margarita. That was excellent as well!

Food

I had the chicken and waffles, which were awesome! The cheddar in the waffle made it for me, although I wish they gave just a bit more of that bourbon maple syrup on the side.

Wife had the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger. She loved it! The homemade pimento cheese was great, and the bacon was probably the best I've tasted on a burger.

Will be going back in the summer!

Stopped by Cookout tonight and got a burger. I must say it's the best tasting, $3, char-grilled burger you can find, especially after 10pm. You definitely get the grilled flavor just from the patty but adding the grilled onions sends it over the top.
