Knoxville Restaurants

I only wear a skirt on Mondays.

Ok, go ahead and tell us all how and why boneless wings are a no go?

I want a detailed explanation of this.

Boneless wings taste like chicken nuggets with sauce.

How- they taste funny.

Why- I don't like them.

Personal preference.

"Boneless wings" are acceptable if you have to go back to work. Or if there's a deal at the joint for them, lunlimited or AYCE and the like.

Dang! That looks so bad and good at the same time.

It is not a pick-up-and-eat sandwich. It is knife and fork. And don't assume that the plate is just small. It's a decent sized plate that is engulfed by the meal.

Ate at Not Watson's Tue night, and it was great....Had 5 downtown after the baseball game last night and it was fantastic....The Smoked Tuna Dip, App was outstanding and the entree's we're excellent...I had the stuffed shrimp, my GF had the fish taco's, both were served with a small side salad that was part of the plate, and the Balsamic Dressing was really good....

Bistro at the Bijou needs some help with their service. Last week we were seated and had drinks served by the manager after five mins. Then, no one ever came back. Good food but man, get some service in the joint.

Was that your first time at Ruby Tuesdays?

Many moons ago they had the best salad bar around. Last time I ate there (and it will be the last) it was utter disappointment on a plate.

I would love to pull for a local but they lost their way long ago IMO.

Yea I've told myself the last 2 times it would be my last. Twice in 2 years was two times too many lol. Place straight sucks.

Is Not Watson's worthy of a triple date night? It materialized late and we couldn't get into our first choices.

Yes. Not Watson's is solid. Not the fanciest place but I always get good service and a good meal.

Only problem might be seating...don't recall if they have a round table.... you might be sitting at a longer table across from each other.

I think BD would approve of this response.

yes, Dr R, is right about the seating....for a party of 6, you will probably have one of the long tables between the bar and the other booths....

I've eaten there several times, and its always been good...Most of the time, I've headed to stock and barrel and then decided not to wait, and end up at Not Watsons.

We ended up at JC Holdway, and it did not disappoint. Incredible flavor combinations and the restaurant just oozes a delicious aroma from the wood fired oven/grill. The chicken wings were amazing, the Benton's-sparked grits were as good as grits can be, and both the ribeye and catfish entrees were very well-prepared.

The atmosphere and service were surprisingly comfortable, not stuffy or pretentious at all.

Honestly, I would call it #1a/1b with Lonesome Dove for Knoxville eats.

Wife and I tried out Full Service BBQ last night.

Aside from suffering the indignity of sitting outside in metal folding chairs choking on hickory smoke [/blue font], really enjoyed it. Really liked their pulled pork, whoever is smoking it knows what they're doing. Tasted like it had just been pulled.

Didn't get to try the other sauces besides the default. Looking forward to trying their mustard based.

Tried SoKnoTaco on Friday. I was riding so just grabbed a quickie bite to eat and didn't go inside. Chips and salsa (these are not complimentary) were mixed, red salsa was nice, green was typical, chips were not good. Must have been low salt or something, either way I want the things at least warm and fresh. These were neither.

Tried the tamale and loved it. Daughter found it to be passable but she doesn't know JACKSQUAT about tamales.

Cool little place. Limited and oddly written menu, prices are kind of low, some of the other plates being served looked kind of nice. Reviews are mixed on facebook but overall positive with some bad reviews probably related to being a brand new restaurant.

Worth trying if you are riding at Baker Creek.

Sorry, Baker Creek Preserve is like a block away and lots of people ride mountain bikes there. Amazing trails to have in town. If they can reel in the bike crowd they should do well. Menu is limited but I enjoyed the tamale and they apparently have a good selection of brews.

It was packed when we drove by after leaving Baker Creek yesterday. It's cool that these brew/casual eats spots are popping up, thanks largely to the work of Urban Wilderness.
