Knoxville Restaurants

Great meal with the whole family at Conners' tonight. Agree that it's tough to beat $30 for a nice wedge salad, perfectly cooked larger portion prime rib, and side. The filet is about the same price. With salads included, that saves around $10 compared to other higher end steak restaurants.

It isn't the fanciest, most eclectic, or BEST, but it might be the #1 bang-for-your-buck in town.

I overheard that somebody bought the old Farragut Silver Spoon property on the corner of KP and Campbell Station. Was it Tim Love?

Was that property a Ruby Tuesday 15-20 years ago? Are there 2 or 3 buildings around there that have been restaurants (including the old Aubrey's across the street)?

Yes. Aubrey's across the street, and the next one down S. Campbell Station was called Edison Park. It's hard for me to understand how restaurants can't seem to survive there in such a busy area. EP was good.

Should turn it into a strip mall. Aubrey's was plenty busy at the location behind it, and still shut down. Just think that intersection is terrible to deal with on that side.

FYI: Seasons has an unbelievable Black Friday only deal: $25 extra for every $50 in gift cards purchased. Basically, 33% off meals there. We will be stocking up.

It’s hard to find a place that does a better Prime Rib around here. Love Conner’s

The soft opening was a disaster and they have made corrections. I just don’t think thier beer is anything special. I like Shultz beer better for local brew

Ahhh so you tend to like more of the old world style, maltier beers.

I have been crazy busy and haven’t been able to make it to Elkmont yet, but my friend that works there has great taste in beer and highly recommended their stuff.

If comparing Connors to Flemings I think you're saving a lot more than $10.

We had a large party recently in the backroom at Seasons. Everything was really good with exception to the filets, they just weren't anything to write home about. The Walnut Encrusted Barramundi on the other hand was really good and at decent sized portions it seemed.

Rafferty’s is going in a new location, right? I would hate it if they’re finished here. Never had a bad meal there.

Owner was quoted in the article that I linked a few weeks ago as looking for a place to relocate Rafferty's. Double Dogs will be in
the new building at Ebenezer/KP.

I noticed another restaurant is going into the failure spot on Lovell Rd. Some Bourbon Concept. Good luck.

They're doing a good job at promoting it. That was the problem before. If they manage to promote properly, they can succeed. Look up the Bourbon Bird. It could work.

Sound like a couple of good ole boys giving it their best shot. What all has been there? Ruby Tuesday? Wok Hay? Copper Cellar test concepts?

Started off as a Ruby Tuesday. They switched it to a concept shop for themselves. Finally sold it. Hurricanes went in as a franchise. Later, it went corporate. Then they closed. Now it's the Bourbon Bird.

I will believe it when it happens. Just can’t see that spot as a place people will go out of thier way to go.

Good looking out. This is very pertinent to my work.

It's not the spot that counts it's the ambiance, quality of food, and quality of service that matter.
