Kyle Prater rumors....

This is huge-need Fulton to come with him. Paint the rock, and kaboom we are back in the KP sweepstakes!

No way we get him as an EE though right? When is the last chance to EE with us?

My understanding, per NCAA rules, is the week before or week of the Add/Drop date at your given institution.

And then they have caveats to that for the trimester/quarter schools.

Hard not to get your hopes up when you see how much sense it would make for him to go to UT. The only question is, does he feel the same way.

Ron Zook at Illinois has 21-39 record in 5 year period. he will be fired pretty soon.

Gotcha...I thought you meant at the game yesterday. I believe it when he says we weren't really in it when he decided to go to USC. However, a lot has changed. We brought a pretty good looking QB recruit and some other good WR in. Not to mention, there are several reports of Prater and Ambles developing a good friendship.

...and Kippy

Umm did u watch today's AA game? Do u think the UF speculation is effecting UF's recruiting? I don't think so. Just look at Elam for instance. If u really want a link then ill be glad to put one on here. It's not like im just making this junk up. Google it like I said. That or wait a couple days or so and you'll have ur answer. Which will be exactly what I was telling you all along.

Unfortunately - you missed my point. The point was specifically talking about Prater's recruitment - not the current UF commits and the ones that committed saturday. They obviously did not have any problem with all the coaching speculation. Prater - on the other hand - is obviously quite the opposite of those players considering he decommitted from his school because they lost their coach. So he's not going to knowingly go into a similar situation.

Apparently Floyd/Elam/Powell feel comfortable enough with the university itself regardless of the coach - or they are extremely gullible. Prater is not the first - evident of him opening up his recruitment.

If Praters commitment comes down to between us and Illinois then I think we win out with the intangibles such as; having a pro-style/USC type offense, being friends with zach fulton/ambles , Tenn Football on the upswing, higher rated recruiting class, Kippy Brown position coach and having a prior relationship with Kiffin among other things.
Sign on the line son, its time to win a championship.

Not going to get my hopes up.

Would be huge, though.

This kid was head and shoulders above the rest in SA.

Didn't want to go thru every post, but with him being an EE, if he decides on UT, what would be the earliest he would be here...since most are coming on Monday. Will he have to wait til this summer?

Well his world was just rocked with Pete leaving USC. He has connections with Tennessee and Illinois that make him feel at home. Fulton and Ambles would be huge draw for him to leave the state and come here. It's like when you find yourself single and looking first thing you do is call your ex. You know what your getting.

I honestly dont think he is better than Ambles. Dont get me wrong, he is good, I just think Ambles is a tad better. (JMO) If he is as good as everyone says, then A Dixon did a fantastic job of covering him in the AA game.

I do hope we get him. Every QB, no matter how good, needs plenty of targets!
