Kyle Prater rumors....

Just got the email saying he confirmed a visit to Knoxville.

When is the visit?

I think we can close the deal real quick if we can get him on campus this week. I believe he had his heart set on being an early enrollee, and I think he could do that at TN as long as he gets into school in the next week or so.

when would that visit take place? some are suggesting it could be for today but i live in chicago and think the only flight to knoxville is like at 8 in the morning. If he shows up in knoxville today somehow i would say he is all ours.

Yeah Ambles and Jac were in his ear and I can see Dixon talking trash to him during the game prob about jump on the ship while you can...funny how Dave Hooker always get told some bs by recruits cuz they don't like him......Im telling you CLK, Monte and O knew the PC news was coming and that is why they went up there to San Antonio it just makes too much sense

Kippy Brown is the KEY here...Prater #1 goal is NFL....He is not going to FL

Yea, I thought I heard he was an EE at USC. Guess not.

And I thought we weren't even in the top 3 of his final list?

Yesterday on the AA game, they said all the kids on both sides said that Prater was gonna be the #1 pick in the draft in 2-3 years. Thats pretty strong coming from his peers!!

Thats ok, Just wait until Janzen Jackson meets him over the middle.......

Just doesn't have the same intimidation factor with Janzen than it had with EB.

Try this:

"Just wait until Janzen Jackson meets him at a convenience store/Pilot."

He was an EE, was supposed to enroll Monday but with the CPC situation, he changed his mind on the EE cause he if didnt he would have been officially committed! Smart move on his part!

“Right now I’m thinking about taking a visit to Tennessee perhaps in the near future,” Prater said. “Illinois is the other school that I’m interested in.”
According to Prater, there are several reasons that he is interested in the Volunteer Football Program.
“I like Coach Lane Kiffin a lot,” Prater said. “I love what he is building at Tennessee. He has put together a great recruiting class; they are building something nice there.”
Another reason that Prater likes about Tennessee is a couple of the Vols current commitments.
“I have developed a great relationship with Markeith Ambles, we have become really good friends,” Prater said. “Zach Fulton family and my family are close friends.”
Stay tuned for Prater’s story, he will let InsideTennessee.com know when he plans to make a visit to Knoxville, perhaps as soon as this week.

He was an EE at USC. He was going from the Army game straight to USC and enrolling Monday morning. Well until Pete left town.

He said at the game before it started that he had changed his travel plans and was now going back home to rethink things. He then said I am leaving it that and concentrating on the game.

Sorry I can't tell you more about the article, I don't have a subscription. I didn't even know I was signed up to get emails from them. Just happened to look over at my phone and say it.

Wouldn't this be an unofficial for Prater?

I don't remember if he took his official last time or if it was unofficial...either way he is coming in town to meet with Kippy Brown and CLK

We have a ton on our side for a quick decision like this including buddies Milton and Fulton...then new friend Ambles

3-3-5 is not the best way to attack the spread. the ONLY way to stop the spread is for the defensive lineman to get north and south and be in the backfield. the problem with defending the spread is that UT ended up reacting to the play almost every snap against it this year. the result is the dlineman getting moved laterally on the football field and creases being opened because of it. Monte gets a pass cuz of his name this year but or scheme against the spread has to get much better. IM also really disappointed with the way monte used berry this year.(not putting him in position to make plays) I hope they decide to keep janzen at FS cuz he will not make plays at the line of scrimmage.

To the point, i dont think we get prater but would love it. Prater is not a spread reciever, doesnt have the speed or agility. this staff is really gettin it done on the recruiting trail and have already compiled an impressive track record. go vols

Wait, let me get this straight.

You know how to defend the spread, but Monte Kiffin doesn't, and you will give him a pass just because of his name for last year?

Wow.

Would love to get Prater. I think Rogers is a waste of a scholarship though...

We'll see...he might end up a safety where many projected him from the beginning.

Even if he doesn't, he wasn't a wasted scholarship as we needed numbers and didn't fill that class as it was. He might not have made it this year or following years, but we definitely had a spot for him in last year's class.
