I think it was more that the topic of the protest wasn't the right topic so any victims got what they had coming to them. On the other hand even if you are a convicted pedophile who by the prosecution's own statements was engaged in several violent and destructive events that night AND calling people the "n-word" if you were at a protest of the right topic all that is ignored and your killing was a great injustice.

My guess is the prosecution didn’t want anything to detract from the black scariness of the death dealing machine gun like a fat yellow chamber block or a zip tie. If I’d been on the jury I would have complained about that pretty quick. You’re a month removed from Alec Baldwin killing someone with an unloaded gun, you’d think safety would be at the forefront instead of theater.

Nobody with any type of firearms training would have been comfortable pointing a weapon at a person or group of people, regardless if it had been checked. It’s just not something a trained person can do comfortably.
