Kyle Rittenhouse - The Truth in 11 Minutes

That's not the point. If you can't safely handle a weapon wherever you may be you don't need one. Especially inside your own house.

Difference between knowing how to handle a weapon safely and knowing where to handle a weapon safely. Sounds like you need some work on the second part.

False. The criminality is the totality of the actions of Rittenhouse. He didn't go outside to get the mail and find himself in a them or me situation. He went looking to create a them or me situation.

The child rapists, domestic abusers, commies and assorted anti-Americans who went there for anything other than peaceful protest 'created' the them or us situation, the decent vs. the corrupt, the lawless against...well, the entirety of society.

You're warped, but at least we know which side you stand on.

You are of course correct.

Do you believe it likely that the Prosecutor was well trained and behaving responsibly when this still photo was snapped?
It doesn't look like it. When the photo was posted it had no caption so I didn't know he was pointing it at someone with his finger on the trigger and I didn't know who he was. I just posited that guns can be amed and dry fired (or with snap caps) indoors if proper safety procedures are followed. There is no rule of firearms safety that I have ever came across that says you can't. And If you can't do that safely you don't need a gun. I'm not saying I'm infallible but whatever happens is on me and I have to take responsibility .

Do you ever stop to think about what you just typed before you press post? This is dumb, even for you.

My 80yo mother has been watching the trial and says it's a shame that there wasn't a 1000 people there that night standing at his side.

Not to argue with mama, but it’s a bigger shame that we’ve de-valued, underpaid, under-appreciated , and chased off so many law enforcement officers than we would need civilians to protect these communities

Not a fan of them, either. Prosecute rioters. Prosecute those who take it upon themselves to use it to make a political statement with a gun.
The irony here is that had the government, local and federal done their duty here people like Rittenhouse wouldn't have been there to begin with.

The government was too chickenshat and punted their responsibilities, then prosecute the people who fielded the punt. The epitome of chickenshats.

And here I am for over 50 years of handling firearms thinking these universal gun safety rules were considered absolute no matter what.

Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.

Never let the muzzle point at anything that you are not willing to destroy.

Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot.

Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

I agree. I said earlier in the thread that if it had been an entire group rather than an individual, EVERYONES perspective on it would change. The left would only be saying “So many “innocent” people died for no reason” while the right would be saying “FINALLY! We’re starting to stand up”. But because it was an individual they want to attach racial motive simply because it was BLM that lost the fight.

Right. The anarchists will even stoop so low as to use the unproven claim of a rigged presidential election as an excuse to riot.

I doubt it. The riots in Seattle and Minneapolis during the summer of 2020 didn't distract from the horrible job that Trump was doing. Trump's horrible performance as president is what made it possible for Biden to be elected in the first place.
LOL

I agree, kind of.

By and large, LEO's today are marginally employable in any other capacity - the ranks are filled with guys with bull shark temperaments' and qualified immunity which is a terrible combination. Paying the LEO's MORE and removing the qualified immunity for negligence while also protecting whistleblowers and having outside organizations 'police' LEO conduct is fundamental for the public to regain trust. Getting a better class of person behind the badge is step one, pay them more but having them purchase their own "professional liability" insurance would be a great way to reign in some of the "shoot first, ask questions later mentality."

The fact that they've been devalued, and underappreciated is self inflicted.

That's not to say there are some fine LEO's, there are - but when you see this sort of thing happen, it's hard to maintain the narrative that it's just a few bad apples.
