Ringgold is a nice areaI drive almost as far to get to work/take my kids to school every day.
Also I live right on the Georgia line and there are several places in Georgia (including my dad’s house) that are farther from my house then he traveled that I would consider to be part of the community I live in.
This whole crossing state lines thing is silly AF. Although I suppose when you have absolutely nothing else…
It happens rarely but it’s not true that “innocent people go to prison all the time”.It's pretty pathetic that this is the case that would cause anybody to think think our judicial system is becoming draconian. As far as injustices go, this is a nothing burger. He shot people and we had a trial to see if he was justified. Big fkn deal. God, do you guys even know what happens every day in the CJS? Innocent people go to prison all the time. We make criminals out of thin air by limiting basic freedoms. But bc Rittenhouse shot people and had to face a trial, we have a banana republic all of a sudden. You can't make this **** up.
You forgot to mention the first guy he shot had threatened to kill him just minutes before.
Was actively being chased by the man that threatened to kill him and still attempted to retreat until he was cornered and the guy grabbed his weapon.... Only them did he shoot him.
Heard gunshots from directly behind him and again attempted to retreat.
Was assaulted by two others who were both shot.
He wasn't very smart for being there in the first place, but the fact he was armed did indeed save his life.
You can make the argument what he did was extremely stupid and I wouldn't disagree, but the people attempting to kill him were just as stupid if not more so....... Do you consider them victims?
Nobody attempted to kill Rittenhouse. But Rittenhouse murdered the 1st dude in cold blood.
Per AP:
"KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — The first man shot and killed by Kyle Rittenhouse on the streets of Kenosha was acting “belligerently” that night but did not appear to pose a serious threat to anyone, a witness testified Friday at Rittenhouse’s murder trial."
The second guy who Rittenhouse killed attempted to disarm a man running down the street with a rifle that multiple people ID'd as an active shooter. The dude's "weapon" was a skateboard.
Also, on the subject of Rittenhouse "hearing gunshots", who cares? Since when does hearing gunshots of an unknown origin (READ: Nobody was actually shooting at Rittenhouse) legitimize shooting people nearby? Man, my friends would be pissed if I shot them in a duck blind cause I heard shots elsewhere.
Again, your premise that "people were attempting to kill him" is based in fantasy.
Rittenhouse should do time. Manslaughter. Do 5 years then released. Getting off without any consequences will only verify a bias judicial system. And, of course, the violence shall ensue.
Burn it all down.
So your argument is you can't protect your property from vandals? The vandals should have free reign to destroy and terrorize but the minute someone is defending against vandals and vandals are wounded or killed, it's the defendents fault? Ookkaay...got it!

No. Prosecutors have qualified immunity, too.Serious question for any lawyers participating in this thread: If the trial continues to go south for the prosecution and Rittenhouse is acquitted of the murder charges, even if he is found guilty of one or more of the minor charges, will there be reasonable grounds for a malicious prosecution lawsuit?
Like they'd start acting outside of ethical bounds to try to get convictions? Those kinds of bad things? No. Prosecutors have qualified immunity, too.
I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a trial in this case and there are some bad things that would happen if we start punishing prosecutors for losing cases.
well welcome back Monte! I see your obtuse bubble is still intact.Nobody attempted to kill Rittenhouse. But Rittenhouse murdered the 1st dude in cold blood.

The funny thing is that isn't the first guy referenced in that article the one brandishing weapons, threatening to cut people's hearts out, calling them the n-bomb, and had a record of child rape?well welcome back Monte! I see your obtuse bubble is still intact.
