‘23 LA CB Jordan Matthews (Tennessee)

There's still the 85 though. As they still deal with covid seniors, it will start being something that has to be managed this year. Not trying to speak for @bignewt but UT will probably need to recruit the portal again after the season.

Sure, but I think you’ll see a lot of transfers. A lot of guys asked to look around

Why do people keep saying, "Don't do this to yourselves." Do what, exactly? Again, if he picks us, awesome. If he does not, just because I though it was looking good for awhile and I chose to believe, it is still not any worse than if I was negative the whole time. I don't get to laugh and scoff at everyone who believed he was coming, but, then again, I would not do that anyway.

Labruzza was the last 4 star CB we got out of LA. He’s been here 8 years and has done absolutely nothing. Even if we get this guy, I will temper my expectations to make sure he is the real deal.
You’re gonna temper expectations for this particular kid Bc of Labruzza like 5 or 6 years ago? What?

Regardless if its the 85 or the 25, having spots open to close strong in December is a good thing. There is always a lot of blue chip talent out there uncommitted or flippable after the season. Feasting on those...Its what the big boy programs do.

You make spots if there's a guy you want. Plenty of the 85 who've been here and never had an impact. Some of those guys left last year, some of them will leave this fall. I'd much rather have a bird in hand.

The big unknowns this year are as recruiting winds down and on field production redefines areas of greatest need, do programs ramp up NIL offers on some committed players before the ink hits the paper. You can go after a guy pretty much knowing what is on the table and play the opportunity card based on the current season and depth chart and MAYBE knowing the limitations the competition would have with their NIL.

So you may not have played your best card early and can justify it to them late based on need. Making a deal 30 seconds before the dead periods might be a good plan for both signing days.

That’s what happens every single time…. We have the two best mods out there in AP and RC, imo. They don’t lie to us like a lot of other mods do…. They talk to us in code and gifs all the time as the way to inform their followers without ruining the kids moment. My opinion of this recruitment:

Positives:
Both AP and RC acts like it’s slightly trading towards the Vols
Franklin apparently is 100% and said Vols
Only CBs in are mods tied in some way to texas( no key CBs put in yet)

Negatives:
More visits to Texas( big one)
area he is from is typically texas or LSU

Let’s hope he is like Gibson and sees are better opportunity here.
I’ll be super excited if he picks us but I have the cup securely on.

1) both AP and RC have clearly said Texas is the favorite but don’t count UT out

2) who is Franklin?

3) CBs even for the home team usually work out in their favor. See Tate

So far each recruit that has fit this profile has picked the other team: Tate, Francis, Ramil, etc

But man I hope we get him! I still have some hope

Franklin is someone that puts the eye emojis weeks or months before they commit. Seems to have good knowledge since he has not missed yet. We will see though

In no world was Labruzza a 4*...and, that's just your opening statement. Want to try again?

I would lean Texas based on history…. This situation is nothing at all like Ramil, Tate, or Francis…. We knew 100% based on the info that we weren’t getting any of the three by the day of the commitment.

Franklin is a Vol fan that supposedly been 100% right…. I don’t know if that is accurate but that’s what several vol fans have claimed.

Neither AP nor RC has said he is going Texas…. They have stated that most think he is going to Texas but we are in it more than most think.
AP stated nothing has changed and his last gif was positive one about Matthews school.

CBs don’t matter at all unless they are the right ones… so far…. None of the ones that matter have put one in.

Matthews is blue chip talent. Be clear about that.

If we don't get him, sure, let's move on confidently and dodge the ensuing troll fest.
