Our OL will need to be upgraded to get the production we need on a week in week out basis. We'll have the backs, but we need the blocks.
Honestly I think next year our Oline will be better. A lot of sacks where due to blown assignments. Year two should improve their understanding of responsibilities and scheme.

I don't think they're bleak. These dudes are actually developing without being rushed.
In terms of 2022 readiness, it’s bleak. I like Perry and Parker as future options at OT, but they likely won’t be ready next year.

I think I would have more confidence if they ever saw the field. We saw how bad Davis was and yet he was a better option than any of the three
You don't understand how OL's are developed, do you? There are almost none that actually come into college ready to play either from a physical or mental standpoint. Most need both S&C and a lot of work on technique and the playbook. Very few face the kind of competition in HS that they have to adjust to in college. It takes time.

If a guy gets to year 3 and isn't contributing then be concerned. If he gets to year 4 then write him off as a FG team guy. There are several young OL "bodies" on this roster who can become very good OL's. For instance, Dayne Davis is just now completing his 3rd year in college. He got some playing time and still has a lot of opportunity to improve. OTOH, Ollie Lane is a RS Jr. He probably is what he is... depth and Special Teams.

UT OL's in year 3 or less (10 of them): Lampley, Ball, Crawford, Mays. Parker, Davis, RJ Perry, Robinson, Spraggins, and Akporoghene. Harris had worked his way into the rotation has a RS Jr and former DL. Lane played as a RS Jr. Wright is a starter as a true Jr.

They need to be ready to play as back ups next fall. Wright will start at one spot. Davis or more likely Crawford will probably start on the other side. They just need to be ready to get some playing time as the the next stage of development.

Mays would be smart to come back, but I’m guessing he won’t. Which may mean he either retires from football or has to try a FA deal.
