This is what I envision. During the recruiting, Wilson made it clear that she didn't want to play in the paint. She even refers to herself as a guard. I think that she will be the starting wing and backup at 4 and White will be the starting 4 and back up post. She should easily be getting 25-26 minutes per game. If she was at Tennessee, she'd most likely only be backup for Russell, with Graves, Jones and Nared getting the bulk of minutes at the high post.
Funny how that timing works isn't it? As I said, it's amazing to see who crawls out of the woodwork after losing your best player to an injury...
Then why isn't Wilson playing wing THIS year when Staley has an embarrassment of riches in the frontcourt? Reminds me of a running gag when Candace Parker got to Knoxville when she would fib about her height because she didn't want to be considered strictly a post player. We see how well that worked out for her....
I hate that Izzy is lost for the season. I like her, a lot. I said BEFORE the UConn game that if we got run off the court(which we did), it wouldn't bode well for your team.
And, THAT is with or without Izzy. Sorry, that's just what it is. But, I can already see what the excuse is going to be.:whatever:
Well thanks, we can all use an extra blessing. Care to rebut anything I've stated?
Yeah, sure. Outside of the SEC and perhaps Duke, South Carolina's schedule has been extremely weak -- far weaker than Tennessee's. Tennessee has beaten far more Top 10 teams than South Carolina, and Tennessee has the same conference record as South Carolina. Not having Izzy will hurt Tennessee, but you have to remember, Tennessee has a an incredibly strong roster of veteran players and isn't nearly as dependent upon a freshman carrying the load, which I think will show mightily during tournament play.
But hey, grasshopper, I get it. You're new to having this much attention placed on your team and you're reveling in it (while probably deep down desperately hoping your team isn't overrated so that you don't wind up looking like a fool), not unlike a kid trying to impress his elders with all of his "knowledge" about life and such. Just don't get too cocky . . . until South Carolina gains the confidence to forgo its weak out-of-conference schedule and actually proves that it can handle the number of top 10 teams that Tennessee has this season alone, I and many others will consider them a good team but not necessarily anything to write home about. There are any number of teams that I think could handily beat South Carolina on any given night, not counting UConn -- I think Baylor, Notre Dame, Oregon State, and yes, Tennessee could all give SC a run for its money. Without Izzy and playing on SC's home court, Tennessee is at a bit of a disadvantage, but if Dawn and her team count them out as easily as you do, they're playing with fire.
Whatever, you're doing just like other fans and just throwing teams out there. Do you really think we'd lose to an Oregon State even though we beat them with a lesser squad last year. Baylor? Um Ok, they just struggled with a depleted Texas squad and a 15-11 Texas Tech squad. Everybody thinks we're overrated and thus they'll beat us. When in reality, there are only one or two teams that are equipped to do so, and only 1 team out of 25 games has.
Personally, I don't care who you have on your team. Because, we've seen what it looks like w/o Izzy.
You're talking about the same team that wound up beating Kentucky by double digits without Izzy . . . that team? Seems like your team beat Kentucky by 8 points the last time they played, and that was with Kentucky reeling from the immediate aftermath of losing one of their stars to a horrid injury during that game. So okay . . .
Great game. The seniors stepped up and showed mettle. I was referring to ones earlier in the season. In which, your offense looked stuck in mud. You only beat Kentucky by 1 point at full strength. Stop acting like they are some kind of barometer.
Well, not really full strength. No Jasmine Jones, no Diamond, no Mercedes, no Jannah . . . not exactly "full strength" if you ask me.
And your team only beat Duke by 1 point, Kentucky at home by 8, and got their asses handed to them by UConn. Let's hear about those other Top 10 wins . . . oh, wait.
Stop whining. Diamond, Mercedes, and Jannah haven't played much if any this year. So it's sufficient to say I wasn't counting them. Forget about all of the comparisons, Tennessee will play SC on Monday. Someone will win.
Trash talk aside seeing as how SC is better in almost EVERY major statistical category(except rebounding and free throws). Has the home court advantage, and Massey giving you a 19% chance of winning even if we played a 7 game series and before accounting for your offensive stats from tonight's game. I like our chances.
How's that for a grasshopper?
Stop whining.
I think if I were you, I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch. I think I'd temper that cockiness a bit, given that you come across as nothing more than a newcomer trying desperately to rub your team's modicum of new-founded success in the faces of a group of people who have been here long before your team came on the scene and will be here long after it goes quietly into that goodnight where all one-hit wonders invariably go. I'd also find something better to do with my time than try to stir s*** on another team's board, but that's just me.
I don't think whining means what you think it means. Coming onto a rival team's fan board to rub in what you believe to be your team's upper hand (especially when your team is a newcomer that hasn't really proven much of anything) fairly reeks of desperation. Stop looking for validation here. That validation isn't yet warranted, and you aren't going to find it here.
First and foremost. You aren't me. And I've been respectful of this board for the longest. As the above poster eluded to I have been here before. What I am not going to do is sit by and listen to false information and/or go along with complete and utter BS just because you want it to be true. And I'm stirring anything, YOU seem to be the one who truly has an issue with my postings. It doesn't matter, this isn't YOUR board. And I'm not disrespecting or being rude to anyone, I'm just posting. The mods will get rid of me, if they choose to do so. You on the other hand should probably hit the ignore button. No matter how long you have been a fan.
Who was rubbing in anything? Look at how the convo started BEFORE you jumped in and got you panties in a wad. Furthermore, you've been on this board exactly one month before me.
