That was the play they drew up. She pulled up instead. She had the lane and had what the staff called. She changed it. Don't blame that one on the staff. The rest of the night, yes, but not that one.No one's dissing Jones. She had a great game. Just dissing the coach who drew up the poorly designed play to her. Play to her strengths not her weaknesses. Should have cleared out and had Reynolds drive and dish to Jones, Moore or Graves. Simple.

Edit: Not Reynolds driving but JJ. They had it and she changed it for some reason.
But that wasn't the right play. That is not her game. She has shown to be very inconsistent taking someone off the drive. And, that's not how she scored all night.
A potted plant could coach this team into the top20. 12 HS All-Americans, top fan support.
Won't stay that way forever, though... ahem
Two of the seven MDAA'S will not play this season, which leaves Five MDAA'S that are actually available to play, and two of those are true freshmen.
So we now have three MDAA'S with any college basketball experience.
This loss is laid right at Holly's feet. What an absolutely pathetic team effort. One only has to see this game to know that our coaching staff is below par at this point. Out coached by a mile by Foster's staff. Maybe I am not privy to all that went on,but Nia Moore has been very good thus far and it's inconceivable she played as little as she did,or that Jasmine Jones played as much as she did. Defense was awful, ball movement was stagnant, rebounding was subpar, and every player on the Lady Vols should be shorting lay ups until their arms are ready to fall off, after running sprints until their legs ache. Prior to this,I have been on the fence about Holly, but,no more. She is not the coach the Lady Vols need.
Jasmine Jones was supposed to drive to the basket, but instead she chose the outside shot.
When Jasmine Jones, and she had a good night tonight, is the leading scorer, we will get beat.
Just a very bad performance by just about everyone that played.
I do not believe, as most everyone else does on this board tonight, that the blame lies with Holly.
I tried to tell ya'll to temper your expectations of a Final Four team. I tried to tell ya'll to temper your hype of Nia Moore.
But, it is not even December yet, so maybe I am completely wrong.
Where Holly struck out today was with personnel management. She starts Burdick, Carter and Reynolds....three non-scoring entities. Those three should never be on the court at the same time. Why she gives Burdick so many minutes baffles me. She brings zero to the team, and if anything she should be last player off the bench.
Burdick's return to the team has made them a lesser team, and it cuts into the development of Nared and Dunbar...two players that have way more upside than Cierra. Seriously...I wish she'd graduate already
But, But, But she was hot, she was our leading scorer. Why wouldn't we go to her...This is what Holly is recalling...This is what is wrong with Holly calling the plays...No imagination, not willing to take a chance on the unknown. She is not a head coach and should not be considered as such! But that wasn't the right play. That is not her game. She has shown to be very inconsistent taking someone off the drive. And, that's not how she scored all night.
