Previous attendance record was 3300, for PSU game 6,193….New record. I was there and the student section was crazy,

Good to see the all sport school doing well.,..Even if DW did have to bribe them with football points. The drive for football points even caused an accident in the backup onto I-40 Friday morning at 8 am in the student traffic to get cross country points.

But most students did stay for volleyball at least through 2nd set and more than 2/3 was there at end of 3….

Watched the match.

Attendance was impressive. Crushed the former record.

PSU may be under-ranked at 7th. They reached quarterfinals last year and lost little (according to announcers, I didn't research it). Tennessee lost a lot and are playing many underclassmen.

Did I mention PSU is good? Beautiful slide step by PSU's MB with perfect backset repeatedly.

We played well the first set but i think PSU helped making a lot of unforced errors. We were hit in the mouth and did not respond in sets two and three. We need work on passing, digging and serving... pretty much everything.

Good news is we played much better in the fourth set. I think we have a lot of promise and repititions will help. Congratulations to coaching staff for playing a difficult schedule.

Only saw the third set. I was attending a Labor Day festivity and had entirely too much BBQ.😉

In my opinion, PSU ranked 7th is better than UL ranked 6th. Guess we will find out this week as UL plays PSU.

Although we did not win a set as we did against PSU, I thought we played much better against UL. Our ability to dig out tough serves was much better than our PSU outing. Passing in general was much better. Serving was better as well, at least in the third set.

Where we are getting killed ( pun intended) is our OH's are not striking the ball with any force. We are hitting weak kill shots that don't find the floor because...well...because there is no velocity behind the strike. Not sure if it's timing, setting or timidity but we are making good defenders on good teams look like all American defenders. Trust me, they don't need our help.

O.k. we have been solidly beaten by #6 and #7. We are currently #15. We will be punished for playing a tough schedule. That's life and it's not a big deal! Always remember, "Iron sharpens iron."

What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. These tough matches will benefit Lady Vols later in the season.

Agreed with what's been said. I was more impressed with us today than Friday. I saw some fight and some bright spots. Kubik not being able to terminate and making lots of errors really hurts us. Hoping she can get going soon! I was really surprised by Eryn Jones today, she looked great.

Great win!

After dropping matches to #6 UL and #7 PSU a very good win against #25 UCLA.

What a difference a week makes!
Serving was very good. OH's played well using angles and soft drops to outwit blockers.

Great match by Cajic, Gradberry, Chapman, Kubik and Kerr.

Congratulations to Tennessee staff for playing a very challenging schedule.

Watched The Lady Vols win in a thriller last night against UCLA. GBO! And whoever #14 was for UCLA needs to be on a catwalk in Paris not a Vball court. What a striking young lady rhetorically and physically. Although their #9 was their best striker.
