Lady Vols' Harrison Has Torn ACL

With all these injuries, Izzy you will be missed! Should the university start looking for perhaps someone besides this person...Taylor Joins Tennessee Staff - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics . Seems this program gets way too many injuries.

Did you see Izzy's injury? Not much a strength and conditioning program can do in that kind of situation. We have been through this before, but upper body strength does not have much impact on concussion prevention. Jasmine is probably one of the strongest women players in the game but I believe her concussion was from an elbow to the head. And Russell's reconstructive surgery had to do with her bone structure and ligament alignment (i.e. her genetics). So why point fingers at Taylor? It is not like the team is plagued with pulled hamstrings.

I really hate this happened to Isabelle. I have enjoyed watching her over the years. I knew she would be quite the player after that game against Baylor her freshman year going head up with Brittney Griner the little time she was in. She turned out to be an outstanding emotional leader for this team. Her game had developed so much since then.
(But Holly nor Dean doesn't develop talent)....sure!

So, what is the point in recruiting all these Micky D All Americans if they are learning so much from Holly and Dean? Seems like you are saying that they can take anybody in high school and make All Americans out of them. I personally don't see it!

This has nothing to do with this injury, it just seems that all we hear is someone has hurt this or someone has bumped that and can't play. I know what you think, next year we will be better it has nothing to do with the staff!

I seen a big improvement in Izzy from her freshman to senior year so somebody had to help develop that. No one expected Izzy to be the player she is. I give credit to Izzy and the coaches.

Well I sure hate it seems like that to you cause no where in my post did I say they could take ANY high school player and turn them into an All-American....but in Izzy's case, which whom my post was referring to....that happened!

I do not believe Harrison is an All-American, at least not first team.

If not for the injury, I think she would have made the 10 player team, but not the AP top 5 team (EWill had that locked down from day 1). She would have been 2nd team for sure.

Huh? Oh, I get it. Facts don't matter, you just feel that there have been too many injuries and someone must be responsible!!! But, if not Izzy and Mercedes then who else?

Tucker who is recovering from an ACL repair and other complications, which occurred before she arrived on campus.

Reynold and Graves getting the flu?

Jones' concussion? Which of these is the staff's fault?

Izzy has always been good, always had a skill for scoring. Some kids have it coming out of high school and others, like Glory and Graves and others, don't and need to be coached to develop scoring skills, to take shots, learn the fundamentals and build some offensive confidence.

Izzy as a freshman was as raw as they come. She made a quantum leap improvement in the transition from freshman to sophomore.

What amazes me is that a lot of good athletes can play at UT (and maybe other places) for four years, and they've got the same weaknesses as seniors as they did as freshman. They just don't develop much. Players who aren't natural scorers as freshman aren't scorers as seniors--even though they have enviable athleticism and size.

I'm not going to pretend I knew who Amanda Zuhui was before tonight, but people definitely know who she is now. I'm not sure which center(s) are most deserving of being All-Americans, but she has certainly put herself in the conversation....

She's been among the best all season. Very underrated.

No kidding. I don't follow the Big Ten very closely, but just looking this game and her career numbers I might take her over any center in the country.... as a sophomore.

Until women hit the squat rack knee injuries will continue to be a problem in the women's game. Ladies, athletic ladies need stronger trunks to absorb, the impact, the physicality and strain basketball places on the body, especially if you're playing at a high level or would like to play at a higher level, imagine if Izzy could squat three times her body weight, she would be unstoppable, if Candance. hmmmm

Squat rack..Imagine if Mercedes could squat over 300lbs, she would be force, that's posting up with power. Our players should look like old USSR women of old. Nia hit the squat rack.

Most of the girls don't like the weights cos it makes them look more manly.

I think you're caught in a time warp. I would be surprised if there was one top 20 WCBB team that did not lift weights.
There's also a middle ground between not lifting and " Our players should look like old USSR women of old"
Do you promote the use of steroids too ?
You really should get out more.
