Lady Vols' Harrison Has Torn ACL

Just as much if not more of a factor in female ACL injuries are significant anatomical differences in the angle the leg and hips join as well as the angles leg bones nearest the knee joint. No amount of lifting will compensate for that. These differences account for the increased frequency that females suffer ACL injuries over men (7-8 times greater).

Until women hit the squat rack knee injuries will continue to be a problem in the women's game. Ladies, athletic ladies need stronger trunks to absorb, the impact, the physicality and strain basketball places on the body, especially if you're playing at a high level or would like to play at a higher level, imagine if Izzy could squat three times her body weight, she would be unstoppable, if Candance. hmmmm

Squat rack..Imagine if Mercedes could squat over 300lbs, she would be force, that's posting up with power. Our players should look like old USSR women of old. Nia hit the squat rack.

Why should I want Geno to have an easy ride thru the season? If a little bad luck fell his way, instead of always hitting the teams he is about to play, I'd say it's about damn time!

Maybe bad example, lol meaning they not only look strong but they are strong. I see people lift everyday who are not in shape and I see athletes and trainers holding true to traditional values of we don't want them to get to big or to physical push women in the weight room like male athletes, women basketball players lift but they didn't lift the weights like the female sprinters on our track team.

The bar be empty, we are like you weigh 167 and you can bench 90lbs and cant squat your body weight, finding the balance of the two will transform the women's game.

Hi Izzy, during rehab yo legs your gonna live at the squat rack, and the hip sled, become a friend with the squat rack and try to squat 3 x your body weight before you hit the court.

Women are built inferior, so working hard in gym is... so what you're say is ladies your legs wasn't made for heavy lifting so don't do it. lol

If you go back long enough you will find injuries that have adversely affected every team, including UConn.
How about this, though I doubt it has occurred to you.
Instead of wishing misfortune on others, why don't don't you wish for good fortune on the team you're rooting for ?
I know we could use some.

I'd be happy if UConn never won another thing, but not at the expense of wishing injury on 18-22 year old kids who just want to play basketball. No matter who they play for, these players work incredibly hard to be where they are and, when you don't let the name across their jerseys color your perception, I'm sure they are all decent, well-rounded young women. Wishing injury on them is classless, even if it's done as a joke.

UConn has had their share of recent injuries, too. These are the ones I remember, but a UConn fan would know better. My apologies if I have any names or details mixed up. Kalana Greene and Mel Thomas tore their ACLs the same year, if I remember correctly. Doty tore her ACL three times and was never as good as she was as a freshman. Morgan Tuck missed last season after undergoing knee surgery. Last year, KML missed several games after hurting her arm against Stanford, and then she was out again with mono. She returned for the post season but was not close to 100%. Unfortunately, these injuries happen to every team.

Sorry to disappoint you. I was born and raised in Belle Meade before heading off to Georgetown for my undergraduate degree and law school. I grew up cheering for the Vols and still watch as much quality basketball as my schedule permits. I am still a fan of the Vols, but also a fan of excellence and overachievers.

No where near disappointed now that you've clarified.

Well....they did lose Tuck last year, and KML was out a game or two. Does that count?
