Lady Vols - National Anthem

You articulated it the best that I have seen ....wish I had your talent in that regard. Thanks .
I appreciate those kind words my friend, but after reading some of your posts, I am convinced you have no lack of talent in that regard whatsoever! It's obvious that you are informed and engaged concerning current events in our country and your life experiences enable you to post with the conviction of someone who is not easily deterred from his mission. But more importantly, I want to thank you, and all the other posters on this site like you, for your years of sacrificial service in preserving the freedom that so many in this country take for granted. It is my belief that sports venues will eventually begin phasing out this tradition of playing the NA, if they haven't already, in order to avoid any controversy, and that the anthem itself as well as the flag will ultimately be replaced as more and more schools prohibit the pledge of allegiance or any display of patriotism, or patriotic attire for that matter, in an attempt to prevent "divisiveness." IMO our country is on the verge of facing the most significant challenge to its identity and liberty that it has ever known and it won't be from the likes of Russia or China; rather it will come from within. In January, 1981, I had the unforgettable privilege to be standing in front of the White House when 3 buses pulled up to deliver their precious cargo of 52 individuals who had spent 444 days of their lives as hostages in Iran. The atmosphere was electric. Thousands of people were cheering, clapping, waving flags, and hugging one another! Not to be sacrilegious, but you would have thought the 2nd Coming was taking place! Absolutely incredible! Now, just 40 years later, I feel like Jimmy Carter has just been re-elected.

Well put .The threat unfortunately is indeed from inside the country and yes imo the country is on the precipice of determining if it will be socialist/Marxist or ultimately communist. The Marxism (Marx& Engels) playbook being played by BLM/Antifa and the like has taken root with millions of people due to propaganda machines ( mainstream media and mega social media organizations) and the trend to teach socialism principles in many universities in this country for the last two decades. What I mean by Marxist principles/playbook /strategy to turn countries to socialism/Marxism/Communism include : dividing the populace on race,caste/social standing in society,or anything else that would work;attacks on police system ;discrediting the justice system ,create doubt about the governmental Departments and system such as the FBI,Intelligence Departments ;attacks on religion /faith organizations;suppression of any other views other than centralized government being the end all solution to the problems facing the country ;attacks on the military;disarming the populace, and finally redistribution of wealth thru various mechanisms .Unfortunately ,they have been very successful in implementing much of their playbook....just ask those immigrants from Cuba and Venezuela who are in this country how they feel about the events that have unfolded in this country thru the riots and they will/have tellor have told anyone who will listen is those events took place inside their country on the way to Communist Control and loss of freedom to pursue their individual dreams. Unfortunately ,the majority of people in this country have their eyes shut as to what is happening and are unaware of what the consequences will be.By the way Fascism under Hiltler made use of the same playbook ...they just used hate " Jews " as their principle tactic ....Hitler made use of the latest in technology called the " movies " in the 1930's to spread NAZI propaganda. and turn the country ...the rest is history as is Russia,Communist China,Cuba,Venezuela.

The latest election shows how successful the Marxist playbook has become in this country including the depths of what measures taken to steal the election in Atlanta,Philadelphia,Pittsburg,Detroit,Las Vegas.Phoenix,Milwaukee,Minneapolis......there are others but those were the main ones where Democrats were in total charge of the Voting mechanisms including the local courts and Attorney Generals.

I will get off my soapbox now and yield time back to other posters who have different views.

Of course it is a state issue and after the State congressional hearings where a boat load of evidence was presented to the state Legislatures ( that which I previously mentioned ) the legislatures in Georgia,Arizona,Michigan and Pa requested that they be convened so they could change their elector votes....but the Governors of those states chose not to do so .The Georgia and Pa legislatures sent letters to Congress asking for 10 days additional time to get the Governors to call them into session to change those votes.Since you did not and have not reviewed the evidence presented at the Legislative /Congressional hearings in each of the states I cited ,you indeed do have your head either stuck deep in the sand or up your ass ...take your choice. .

The local courts in each of these states were elected judges who chose not to look at any evidence except in Arizona,Pa,and Nevada. Those cases were appealed to the State Supreme Courts and each said that it was too late in the process to consider ....I ask you what kind of nonsense is that. The Wisconsin Supreme Court had a 3-2 decision saying it was too late to consider even though there was more than ample evidence that the voting of "mail in " ballots clearly were not in accordance with the voting laws passed by the State Legislature( that case is before the Supreme Court ...on their docket) .The United States Supreme court also punted on the Texas and 21 other states law suits saying that it had no standing .The Supreme Court did accept the PA and Wisconsin suits for consideration .Whether or not they in fact rule on those cases plus an expected one from Georgia remains to be seen..

I can tell you one thing that is crystal clear if the States and Federal Government do not get a handle on the proper handling of "mail In Ballots " everything from : making sure the voter is a CITIZEN of the USA,is 21 and of voting age ,is alive and kicking ,is registered to vote in that state ,is a resident of that state and verifies the signature from each ballot as being real and correct, is not a dog ,cat or Mr Elm or Mr Oak in your back yard ,etc and have voting machines that are not hooked into the internet that switches votes ( Democrats in the Senate and House agree on this issue ),or ballot stuffing with fake ballots and more ballots are received than there are registered voters in that state( 205 ,000 in Pa and 200000in Michigan for example ) ,there will be wide spread voter fraud which can cause a real revolution in this country.

The Constitution you keep speaking of has an amendment, the 26th amendment that lowered the voting age to 18. I would make fun of you for this but you seem like you are on a roll and I would hate for the truth to get in the way of a good story.

Yeah, as I stated before, I have read and watched as much "evidence" of voter fraud that I can. It is almost all contrived b.s. I am not the only one of this opinion, no one including the supreme court, attorney general, Republican governors can find any truth to wide spread fraud. Why can't trumplicans understand he lost, fair and square? 74 more electors and 7 million people more people voted for Biden.

Are you so delusional to think drumpf is infallible? Its impossible for him to lose? Is it more probable that the dims orchestrated a multistate voter fraud scheme? That seems almost as crazy as the terrorist that stormed the Capitol.

Just to clean up some of your claims. When you say elector votes, I think you mean votes from the electors. Electors don't get re-appointed because drumpf dosen't like the outcome or drumpfed up election fruad claims.

Again you are dead wrong about voter fraud and other shenanigans and evidence of same. And ,again you have admitted that you did not see the Legislature hearings in Ga,Pa,Wisc,Ariz,or Mich nor review the evidence coming out of those hearings or review the sworn statements ( some 2000 + ) that are readily available. So what if voter age is 18 does that mean that a 4 year has the right to vote ...asking for a friend .There were 15000 under the age of 18 who voted in the Georgia election...fact is I believe that those names were just selected at random and someone other than them filled out the ballot for those names. Why can't you understand that : there were 205,000 more ballots received in PA than there were registered voters and about the same for Michigan .Why can't you understand that 40,000 + ballots were stuffed in Atlanta which was videoed and played back to the Georgia Legislature hearings, why can't you understand that during those same hearings that it was demonstrated live that the Dominion voting machines could be hacked and were hacked live on TV demonstrating that they were not only hooked to internet but votes could be changed ....this was during the early voting for the Senatorial runoff election. Why is it you can not understand that one of Dominion machines was used as a test to run 100 ballots each for Trump and 100 ballots for Biden and the results coming out of the machine was 124 votes for Biden and 76 for Trump. How is that you do not understand that one Dominion machine in a Michigan county switched 5,000 + votes from Trump to Biden ? How is it that you don't understand that over 300,000 illegal aliens voted in Arizona and Nevada ? how is that you don't understand that 10000+ dead people voted in Georgia ,more than that also voted in Pa,Mic,and Nevada;how is it that you do not understand that 16,000 + felons voted in Georgia ? How is it that you do not understand that 100,000+ "mail in ballots in Wisconsin " were fraudulently cast as admitted by the State Supreme court.....that is now before the Supreme Court ;why is that you do not understand that 20,000 people cast votes twice in Nevada thus totaling 40,000 votes ;why is it you do not understand that over 100000 ballots were received in garbage bags from an unsecured warehouse supposedly " mail in ballots " all filled out for Biden.... no creases in the ballots so they were obviously not mailed and returned .... arrived in one Detroit polling area at 4 AM in the morning which resulted in coincidentally a 100,000 spike for Biden a short time later;why is it that no Republican poll watcher was allowed close enough to view the " mail in ballots" process in Atlanta,Philadelphia,Detroit,Phoenix and Pittsburg to name a few especially during the periods of Biden spikes in the early AM hours ;why is it that Republican Atlanta( Fulton County ) poll watchers and media were kicked out of the process in Fulton county ostensibly because there was a major water line break ( which was a ruse because there was no water break ) and large suitcases were then hauled out from underneath a table that had skirts on it hiding those suitcases and those ballots were cast and recast ( run thru the machine as many as three times by 4 of the poll workers with an estimated 45,000 votes for Biden during that same time period and 13 for Trump( this was caught on video which is available if you care to view it );Why is it that the Dominion Machines in Fulton County broke or mal functioned at a 96 % error rate ( the acceptable rate is less than one % ) causing what they call an adjudication process to kick in which interprets what the voter intent was with no republican present for that process ....this caused over 20,000 +ballots to be adjudicated and no one knows what the resulting tallies were for either Biden or Trump;why is it that Dominion says that their machines are not connected (Which is prohibited by law ) to internet but over 70 poll workers ( some democrats included ) and Dominion employees in Georgia,Philadelphia,Detroit and Phoenix testified under oath that when machines broke or mal functioned they were given a number to call in Denver which hooked them into the internet for a " fix " of the problem ...not coincidentally some spikes in voting occurred when those fixes were made .I could go on but if you interested in more facts why don't you access the sworn statement and view the Televised proceedings of the Legislative hearings which are archived in each state and by One America News .Finally, why is it that Georgia,PA ,Mich,Ariz, and Nevada will not have an "independent "audit "made of the machines and the ballots for not only authenticity that they were made by citizens of the United States of America, they were in fact registered to vote in that state ( and did not vote in two states or more or cast multiple votes in one state ),they were of voter age, they were not felons, that the ballots were real and not fake ,that the signatures on the envelopes and ballots matched what was on record as the ballot caster, etc,ie that the one person one vote was legally cast everywhere in the contested states .More over if you and the Democrats are so damn sure that the above statements are hog wash as you have stated ,why aren't you and Democrats also demanding such audits to prove your point that there was no wide spread voter fraud ...that would have cleared the air for everyone you ,me and anyone else .As it is at least 100,000,000( 161,000,000 by one poll with 17 % of that number being Democrats) who say the Nov Presidential election was fraught with dishonesty and fraud.I believe even you would say with such distrust in our election system that this Republic will not endure .

The "Lady Vols" lost me when they kneeled during the National Anthem! I am done with these athletes who do not understand the meaning of the word RESPECT. Everyone has a right to an opinion, that is a fundamental principle of our founding fathers. However, like most things, there "is a time and place for everything".

While we all should respect any player's opinion the other side of that is they should also respect the opinion of others as well. If athletes want to express their opinion then do it in some other venue. A large majority look at the flag and National Anthem as symbols of the brave young men and women who laid their life down for this nation. Further, when most sports enthusiasts go to sporting events they want to see a sporting event and show some respect to the National Anthem, period. Most fans, like myself, do not care what opinion anyone has at a sporting event we just want to see our favorite team compete.

With the above said, I also blame the UT administration for allowing this to occur and not teaching these athletes how to become productive young men and women. The administration failed the athletes, plain and simple.

Some things are more important than sports. That is why I will no longer support the Lady Vols in any way form or fashion and if any other part of UT athletics kneels I will no longer support them as well. People in this nation do truly need to understand the importance of tolerance and, as one, we work toward goals we all want attained. Something the UT administration and Lady Vols should think about before they create more division.

Does the word irony have any meaning to you? Just for the record who is this "we". Is it black athletes who worry that when they are not on the court, that they, or their friends, or relatives might be killed for driving, shopping, walking while black or less severely being racially profiled when they walk into a store? Where is your respect for these athletes' experiences and viewpoints?

Right as the rain in April !

disappointed to see the LVs perform this divisive act --- where is this "unity" we hear so much about? --- since I attended, UT has certainly gone down the marxist rabbit-hole like so many other schools that used to be interested in education, free speech, inclusiveness, and tolerance of other opinions

Uhm - - you’re right about free speech and I believe taking a knee is an example of that

Apparently UT thinking about all the ways they can kneel and disgrace our country instead of thinking about how they could pass a basketball; get the ball in bounds; stop the stupid turnovers; and sleep-walk thru a game.

I have been a fan of LV since they started BB, and I have never seen a more pathetic half than tonight. This team did not want to win. Stood around holding the ball until Ga simply took it away and went in for layups. 17 point lead in first half, as Ga played badly, but then everyone quit. Davis was as pathetic as any, and Burrell was somewhere else. Key cannot hold onto a rebound and continues to have the ball taken away.

Absolutely disgusted with this sorry, sorry effort ( or lack of effort). PITIFUL.
