Although this may be true, I sincerely hope the team and the coaches are not thinking this way. Although not ranked in the top 25 like Marquette, the Oklahoma State team they face this afternoon beat Wichita State by twice as many points as the Lady Vols. And, Massey has them ranked at 62, only 4 spots behind Marquette, and projects the Lady Vols as a 9 point winner, 71-62.

Going into the game with the mindset that their hardest game is behind them could very well result in a loss. I would much prefer that this young team consider every upcoming game as their toughest - until the final buzzer!

A bad Marquette team? The same team that returned everyone of importance from last year when they won the Big East and won a game at a top 10 Oregon State? I believe all 5 starters for them are preseason All-Big East selections and Blockton is preseason POY. Yeah, they're horrible.

You sound like you have zero knowledge of WCBB... Pat would be disappointed.

No matter how great out of the gate these frosh gals are they need time to adjust to the speed and stage at this level.

I wonder were UK fans thinking that when UT beat them with a bottom dweller squad last year 🤔 sound familiar? It should as there fans were comparing Coach Cal to coach K, Coach Williams, etc... now if comparing coaches doesn’t sound familiar I don’t know what does.

day- to - day LV regulars do understand that the ranting on the TN football boards have many carry-overs to our board. Can't get pleasure on ranting on the meaningless game with Vanderbilt. Why for example: a male who is believes it is appropriate to have an avatar of a bikini clad female on a LV board. (in my opinion these frustrated boarders might be called Crap - same ole. smile

This will be a lot better team than last season although the record may be close to the same. At least we have effort and freshmen will have to learn defense as games go along you really don't play that much defense in high school.
I thought we were trying to be aggressive on defense but the Refs were quick with the whistle and of course when that happens you tend to play a little more introverted.
I thought we should have went to the zone sooner, but at least we did use it in time to get some key stops.

Pat would have probably taken 2 bigs off the bench and absolutely stopped foes
offensive drives and layups thru the middle. Foul hard if necessary. Argue necessity
of playing her way with refs. Maybe take a technical to get points across.

BTW Marquette is #62 in the country. Not a bad program at all.

You DO coach free throws.

From the stands I can see, short-arming on the follow through, confusion in the face ( Which, most often can be cured by changing the focus.e.g..Back of the rim, over the front of the rim or at the deep "v" in the back of the net. All three are different focuses.).

It can be mental too...What's being said we can't hear?

I wrote that geno's connies jack up 25+ 3's a game...We jacked up 23 this last game and made 8...netted us 24 points hitting at 34%... It also stretched the defense allowing feeds and penetration.
Not a word about too many 3's..Win and every shot is a good one, lose and all of those same shots are bad.

You do coach foul shots. If it is a form thing, it will be evident. If it is a mental thing, it has to be addressed, mentally.

thank you Marquette is good team n if you know lady vol history coach summit had many games like this against teams people calling bad.what this team compared to last 2 seasons is they made plays when needed like green's 2 rebounds please dont get me wrong turnovers n free throws don't make me happy but this was good scrappy win.i have played ball since i was 3 and you run into teams like Marquette alot.great win young ladies and 2 the 2 seniors russell n nared.

I'm really proud of the team showing everyday that these freshman have what it takes to get wins. They never give up and they play hard and thus far have found a way to win. You will see improvement every game and about the middle of the season these freshmen will be so much better than they are now especially gaining ability and experience on defense and eliminating many of the fouls they are now making.

Quit looking at the number beside their name. Pre-Season rankings mean nothing (see TN at like #5 starting last season). So, Yes that’s a bad Marquette team. They were 1-1 and lost to New Mexico. New. Freaking. Mexico.

Pat’s teams would have beaten Marquette by 30. Next I know, you folks are going to be telling me that was a very good 0-3 Wichita State team we barely beat at home last week.

If you can’t see the writing on the wall- you’re setting yourself up for a huge disappointment this season.

Pat would be even more disappointed that Lady Vol fans have accepted mediocrity and are celebrating close OT wins against teams from the Big East.

Oh how far we’ve fallen.
