Lady Vols Softball

I'm just waiting to see if they'll play any tournament in Florida. Ever.

They'll play a women's basketball tournament in Florida. Any sport we're any good in, they keep they'll relocate to Alaska first if they have to.

They played in the St Pete/Clearwater Invite in 2019. I guess Florida wasn’t even worthy enough to play in their own backyard. 🤣Keep up.

What type of pitcher in the portal do we take? Rogers is back and possibly back for two years. Types of pitchers in the portal, are Turner type kids.

There are going to be more quality pitchers in the portal this year than you think. Some fifth year players, especially from smaller schools that their current school can't or won't give them a scholarship for a fifth year.

I can't believe I'm defending them, but Oklahoma has some travel and budgetary restrictions from their administration that limits their out-of-conference travel. Between that, their awful stadium, and their typically weak conference, it's remarkable that Patty has built and kept that program where it is.

They played the bedlam series at OSU last weekend and the Big 12 at HOF stadium. It works for the conference I suppose.
They get to play the Wcws 20 mins from campus I drive farther for groceries. Of course most regional games are at home for their seed. So I decided I would watch Big 12 championship and see yes it is in HOF stadium which is where? Oklahoma City I just shook my head. I was not talking about pre conference tournaments. So let’s add it up and most of it they deserve because of rank: conference championship OK city, regional and super if they make it Norman. Wcws Ok city 20 mins up road from Norman. Why the Big 12 would let them hold the tournament there other than money Is beyond me. It is nice to be king we live it with Alabama football.

I was referring to the SEC Softball Tournament and SEC tournaments in general.

They'll go anywhere but Florida.

Florida is scheduled to host the tourney....It rotates between schools

The SEC Softball Tournament is an on-campus event. It rotates to all 13 schools with future sites set for Florida (2022), Arkansas (2023), Georgia (2024), Auburn (2025), Kentucky (2026), LSU (2027), Missouri (2028) and Ole Miss (2029).

Championships - Softball

Catcher stands. Holds arm opposite of batter. Ball tossed to hitter can’t swing. Intended walk.

So you put the tying runner in scoring position and the losing runner on base, and the hitter in the lineup that protects Ms. Babe Ruth comes to the plate. Then what? Pitch to her?

If a small school won’t take/give then why do we?

Florida hosts the softball SECT as much as anyone else because it gets rotated amongst the schools. The women’s basketball tournament I believe was held in Jacksonville a few years ago. The basketball tournaments tend to be held in areas that are centralized within the conference, especially the men’s, like Nashville, Birmingham or Atlanta. I wouldn’t mind seeing the women’s basketball tournament be rotated among Jax, Nashville, Little Rock and Greenville, SC. I really liked Duluth, GA as a location over LR or Greenville but it appears that will never happen again.

Florida hasn't hosted since 2005. Not since Tim Walton has been head coach.

Since then, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU have hosted twice.

Tim Walton being coach shouldn’t be any kind of measuring stick. A team’s success has nothing to do with hosting the tournament.

I agree that there shouldn’t be teams hosting twice in the same span when a team like Florida or Georgia (who hosted in 2006 and hadn’t since) hasn’t hosted again in that timespan. WTBS, I’d like to know if Florida hosted prior to that time, because in the last 15 years there have been a number of new stadiums open, and TN (the first time), Kentucky, Ole Miss, Arkansas and SC all hosted the tournament with brand new or very new stadiums and had never hosted before. Plus there have been two schools added to the conference since the time you specified and they have both hosted, including A&M’s new stadium in 2019.

That would be correct newer/bigger facilities means you get to host....Auburn has plans to upgrade their stadium ahead of hosting the tourney
