Lady Vols Softball

I wouldn't say 50/50. I would say that our regional is one of the toughest, and we definitely have arguably the best 3-seed in the tournament.

Mizzou would definitely be favored in the SR, but it's a similar scenario to 2017 when A&M lost to us 2-1 at home in the last series of the season and then beat us in Knoxville 2-1 -- after getting blown out in the first game of the SR. But 15/85? Definitely not.

OU's tough to beat because not only are they amazing at the plate but they also have an AA pitcher -- who's a lefty and extremely versatile. A run rule could happen because they've run-ruled lots of good teams.

Hell might be freezing over because I agree with every word of this.

Right, you're doing it as a one-year stopgap if you're taking a 5th year or grad transfer. And that's ok, it doesn't upset the future recruiting that you have lined up. Between getting Thompson back at second base and the corner players coming in next year, I think a stopgap #2 pitcher is what you're looking for in the portal to fill a role until Pickens arrives in two years.
More pressure on Pickens as a FR. Stopgap pitcher, plus losing potentially 1-2 on the roster this year. Does Rogers get another year, that would ease the pain of throwing Pickens to the SEC, seen her play many times and you have to give her time. Nicola Simpson gives you a pitcher but doesn’t answer the role of being a #2 early on.

The number of Mid-major Grad Transfer qualifiers are a huge number. I would say there are more than 50 that have the ability to shut down and contain an SEC lineup. This is where the coaches have to look. You have Rogers and a freshman with Turner who you really can't trust to be the answer. Adding another quality pitcher through transfer is the solution for next season. The player has to be one that has proven their ability over their four years at the other school.

At the very least she will get a "medical" redshirt year so unless she just wants to move on she should be here at least the next two years which should give an over lap year with Pickens.

Just heard the Ncaa will allow full stadiums where allowed by local authorities in baseball and softball. How quick that goes into effect and will they boost attendance for the regional is the question. Ncaa sure likes to virtue signal but follow the money is their battle cry in the end.

Baseball did this last weekend and last night. So softball should be able to do it also.

They moved me again for the regionals did not pay much attention just realized I'm in orange seat back chairs. Best enjoy the high life while it lasts. By the way as of a few minutes ago there are tickets behind home.

Thanks for the info, kregman. I already had 4 in section E but had ordered 2 more in the outfield for other family members. Just called UT and got those switched to section E also. I already said I was going to buy you a coke Friday. Now I owe you a coke and a hot dog! I am in Sec E, row 5, seat1. Right behind the entrance. Look me up when you get a chance Friday.

You own me nothing and as it happens I'm in the row behind you at the other end of the row should have no trouble hooking up!

I am very surprised and very, very happy to be wrong. We had gotten word Tuesday that the NCAA would not be revisiting the attendance decision, as well as several other rules for teams and staff that would have been far more restrictive than the regular season. Then, less than 24 hours later, they reversed course on all of that. Very happy they did, even if it means what I posted here and said on my radio show was wrong.

All of these laggards are looking dumber and dumber by the day. Who are the Neanderthals?

Probably has to do with seeing NCAA baseball stadiums filled, money flowing and people happy the week before.

Word to the wise if anyone on here will be sitting in the outfield the sun not only shines down on you but reflects up. Lots of sunscreen and sunglasses.
