LaMarcus Coker suspension

He's probably doing what half of kids in college do: smoking too much pot and not passing classes.

no i don't mean its all fulmers fault, but it just made me scratch my head last year when the run game was goin horrible esp. the bowl game, when the one play coker got the ball he took it to the house

last year he was the most dynamic player on the team, besides meachem whose in the nfl. any time coker touched the ball he looked like he could take it all the way

When are we going to get a update on him?Arian (AKA butterfingers) foster i here he has bulked up,dedicated himself after the Penn State fumble.Well i hope he has learned to hold onto the football. We need coker back he has that extra gear foster doesn't have.We can't expect receiver to be a strength early on.Not having coker at cal hurts us.I used to be hard on phil for just simplfying the offense and looking vanilla. This year especially early we need vanilla, keep it simple and bust someone in the mouth. An if we can't get that done then send the U-haul to phil's door.I will personally donate the money for the rental.

I don't understand why everyone keeps picking on Foster. Sure, he had a few fumbles, but every back does that. Yes, he had a pivotal fumble in the Penn State game, but the whole team played like garbage so you can't lay that whole game on him. I hope he proves all you haters wrong this season and tears it up and gets all-sec.

I don't hate arian foster. He has had a few costly fumbles. He is a decent back.He doesn't have that extra gear though.

Foster seems too much like the backs UT has had of late, they aren't able to break off many long runs. Coker was different, he could run away from the defense.

yeah my posts about coker might have been wrong a couple of days ago, i did some lookin around and although its just rumors it does not look very good but who knows at this point

Hopefully hardesty is healthy and can provide a little change of pace.I always noticed with hardesty he seemed to make to many moves instead of just finding a hole.Yeah foster fits the cedric houston mold.Although i'd have to say foster at least finds the hole.Houston would just run into people and push the pile.He had no feild vision at all.

yea utvolfan u must have heard what i did bc the way it sounded it wasnt up to fulmer and co decision to let him back on the team, it was hamiltons

I don't see Foster and Houston as being very similar. Houston was really dangerous in open space. He had some great plays on screens and short passes. That's not really Foster's forte. I think we just misused Houston a lot. The way the Eagles used to use Brian Westbrook would have worked well for Cedric. I don't think he should be split out wide like Westbrook, but we should have found ways to get him the ball in space.

Coker wouldnt have probably ever been an every down back but he could break plays open. He holds what like 2 or 3 of the longest runs in UT history in his first year.

Can't compare him to gerald riggs jr.Foster did something in his first year also stayed out of fulmer's dog house.Riggs had more speed than foster. Can't really think of another back that foster reminds me of.Little man stewart maybe.

i think that coker reminded me of a half reggie bush although he wasnt as shifty and elusive, u would almost want ainge to hand the ball off just to see what coker would do and most of the time it would be a long gainer

It seems like we haven't had the big playmaker type back since Travis Stephens

-Cedric Houston was injury plagued his whole career and didn't reach his full potential.
-Gerald Riggs was all hype
-Jabari Davis was a completete and total bust for the most part
-And Arian Foster showed flashes of brilliance his freshman year, but was very dissapointing and inconsistent his sophomore year.

You hit the nail on the head about Coker though, he was anything but unimpressive last season, and may be the breakaway type back that UT has needed for the last 5 years.

The bottom line here, is if Foster, Hardesty, Creer, or somebody doesn't step up soon then we may be looking at a mediocre ground game yet again depending of when Coker comes back. It's time for someone to prove they can carry the load.

truthfully i think if u put any of those players (except jabari b/c all he could do was dive in the endzone) behind the line that lewis/henry/stephens ran behind i think that all of them could have been 1000+ yard rushers even though riggs and houston got it in 04
