Lane Kiffin finalizing new 10-year deal with FAU

Inside sources are telling me the 10 year deal is a total package of 8.75 million

So let me get this straight. Fulmer is so obsessed with defense that he pays 24 mill of UT money to hire a novice head coach while Kiffin signed for 9 mill for 10 years and Sanders signed for considerably less 75 miles up the road. Either one of those guys would have threatened the legacy of him being the last coach to win a national championship here. Neyland would be rocking for years. Betcha we have trouble getting a crowd half way through 2018.

So in your world Fulmer is using his position as AD to sabotage any chance of UT ever winning another Natty? Interesting.

There's a reason why these guys are signing deals with coaching graveyards. They aren't the prizes you delusional fanboys think they are. If you could combine Sander's personality with Kiffin's coaching acumen, you might have a point.

Wait...Randy Sanders? What?

Indeed. UT USC and Bama are all still recovering from NCAA sanctions brought on by Kiffin.

Usc huh. Sanctions were brought by carroll and bush. Not kiffin. Alabama is in the playoffs again. If thats recovering then i hope tn gets the same sanctions this offseason. Ut darn 8 years were worse off than USC and Penn State. What did we do pay kids then run a sex trafficking program of undocumented underage girls.

I hope your comment was blue font

Sanders? As in Randy? Lol

Please tell me that you are talking 'bout Deion Sanders

Brilliant move for Lane!
Gets to live in Boca Raton, low expectations, all he has to do is keep his butt out of trouble and not give "cause".

doubt he has it in him!

Hearing that the buyout is $24.75 and therefore the contract really means nothing whatsoever.

If they open a new Hooters in Las Cruces, Lane will be taking the New Mexico State job.

...and his great friend, Tee Martin, will surely follow as Associate HC and late shift bus boy

In Martin's own words, ""Me and Lane were just talking," Martin said Thursday. "We were on the phone going back and forth, text messaging. I was eating breakfast with me wife. He was asking me how the kids were doing and all that kind of stuff. I sent some videos and he sad, "Dude, I'm about to offer Kaden a scholarship.' I was like, ' Stop playing.' Long story short, he did. It kind of took off from there."
Nothing better than coaching his own son either as an OC or HC. Would that not have rocked Rocky Top?

It was never going to happen. There was a better chance Gruden would happen than Kiffin or Tee Martin.

Bangers? Crumpets?

Seriously? The cheating ex girlfriend analogy is overused and really lazy.....

It is literally nothing like Lane and UT's history.

It is truly sad how many grown adults are butthurt over a sport.

It’s just as sad how many grown men can’t get over that ex girlfriend. He literally mocks us, and you guys completely ignore it.

Different story if his best friend and his family's best friends were to become the head coach. After all, Tee was amazed back in May when his 13 year old soon was given a scholarship to FAU.

You ask for "documentation" that Tee was not interested in being the OC at Tennessee. GAVol provides it. Then you move the goal posts to say he would have taken the job if we had hired Kiffin, even though Tee himself made it clear he wasn't coming here to be OC. And you apparently think we'll have trouble drawing a crowd at Neyland halfway through next season.

So you don't like Pruitt, and you think we should have hired Kiffin? Is that what this is about, or are you just one of those folks who's always upset about something?

Kiffin is at FAU, at least for another year or two. Plenty of room in that stadium for you. On the other hand, tickets at Neyland are likely to be in scarce supply moving forward.

The fact (key word there, "fact") that Lane Kiffin went from Alabama to FA-who?, and Jeremy Pruitt went from Alabama to Tennessee tells you all you need to know about where most AD's stand on the integrity of both of those coaches.

Go Vols.

I honestly think that Lane Kiffin had been given the impression by Jimmy Sexton that he, Martin, and Steele might be coming to Tennessee as a package deal. They were all his clients along with Fulmer. He was telling other suitors no and was screwed by Fulmer.

Why do I think that? Tee Martin and Steele were under the same impression. Martin never accepted offers to go elsewhere either. His best friend, Kiffin, would have brought him to Tennessee as OC, where he would have been positioned to become head coach if Kiffin went back to the NFL after 4 or 5 years.

Steele even made a call to Martin to see what he thought about the idea.

Instead of those 3, we ended up with a novice coach, a novice OC, a novice DC, and a recruiting class that has dropped from 33rd to 54th thanks to the Trojan horse from Alabama. Did I say Phil Fulmer's Tennessee legacy is gonna be shot?

You're making yourself look like a fool. Our recruiting class is up to 26, and we will sign more players. Will probably have a top 20 class. Pretty good considering all the **** that happened.

I cant believe you would have rather have Randy Sanders as a HC. That just blows my mind.

It’s SD. He’d take Donnie Tyndall over Coach K
