The best possible candidate any team could want right now. How can he still want to coach college basketball at 70, though? And secondly, how long would he stay around?

I used to be against a hire like Brown since it's just a 3-5 yr plan, but times have changed. Everything seems to go in 3-5 yr cycles in business and life in general. I say why not.

Um, the last guy Brown coached college basketball he got in trouble with the NCAA and got the program a one year ban...

Most Tennessee fans on this board have made it clear that they don't care about sanctions brought on by a coach, Brown has won a National Championship at this level.

in 1988. He also won a NC. His reputation and that of KS seem to have made it fine. What were you doing 23 years ago. My guess is that you were on a teet. Just saying it's a long time ago.

We are firing a coach for NCAA problems, and then we hired one who got a program banned from postseason play for a year? That's just not smart.

Didn't say it would be smart or would be considered. Just saying that if someone says you can have Larry Brown right now for 4 years that you listen. You don't take an up and coming coach over him. Not yet.
