Latest Bowl Projections; One SEC teams gets a BCS Bowl?!

Me too at the SEC tournament about 3-4 years ago. I was looking for tickets and they got a guy about 20 feet from me.

I havent been too impressed with GA law enforcement. I lived there for 5 years. Their tax structure isn't much to write home about either.

I had to use my powers of persuasion to prevent a ticket broker from my hometown from being carted off at the SEC Tournament. The officer finally settled for simply seizing the tickets.

Probably sold them to me. I got in for $20 on an expired ticket because the "scalper" was in cohoots with the gate attendant.

seriously.. do you people not realize that the Elizabethton Star is a better paper than the AJC? why on earth would UGA go to the Chic Fil A? That might sell one hotel room and reservations for one restaurant... No way does this happen. Quit worrying about it. UT will make a bowl game and as long as we beat Vandy and UK, we don't even have to worry about bama/SC goin to the liberty or UK goin to the music city.

And you name yorself Allvol and
then say you will not go and support the Vols?

I haven't missed a bowl game from when we educated Eddie George and the "All World" Ohio St. team. I don't care where they are The Ooltewah Vol family will be there.

Wow, you and the family I am sure had a great time at the Chic-Fil-A bowl during Maryland's manhandling of UT.

Well thank you AKA allvol. We had a very nice time, even when we didn’t win the game. You see families are with one another regardless of how things come out. It is the same in the Vol family. You can choose to shun us if we do not meet your expectations, and we still like you. Hope one day you too can realize what a privilege it is to be in the Vol family. Come join us, you may just have a good time yourself.

I was in attendance at the Peach Bowl when the Terps spanked us. It wasn't the farthest thing from a nice time that I have ever had. It was the most morbid feeling in the world leaving the Georgia Dome and being taunted by Maryland fans. If you are a "real fan" as you claim to be you would have been miserable as well. That being said, if the bowl game is within a reasonable distance and I have the funds I try to make it to the bowl game even if I am unhappy with where they are playing.

The AJC is about 2 inches thick. You cant compare the 2. Its no Washington Post or NY Times but come on.

either way the two inches worth of articles amount to about two inches worth of paper. only thing worthwhile in that paper are the AP reports, because they're journalists had nothing to do w/ those

I was in attendance at the Peach Bowl when the Terps spanked us. It wasn't the fartest thing from a nice time that I have ever had. I was not addressing if I felt good about the outcome of the game. Only said my family and I had a good time. Winning is not the only reason you support anyone. If you are truly family you do that regardless. Now was I down because we got spanked, you dang right I was, but I was there to support the VOLS win or lose. His earlier comment that he had no desire to go to any of the bowls we had a shot at is what the thread was about.

Now to you, you say “If I am a real fan as I claim”. Let me address that.

Real as defined is: True; existing; actual; genuine; existing.
Fan as defined: is short for fanatical, meaning Motivated or cartelized by an extreme, uncritical enthusiasm.

So now knowing that I can answer yes to all of the above. So do I call my self a fan? I KNOW I AM

How many losses did Florida have in 2001?

Here we go hat, I've found a good list of BCS participants and will list all at-large teams with 2 losses:

1998 Florida 9-2 (Orange)
1999 Tennessee 9-2 (Fiesta)
1999 Michigan 9-2 (Orange)
2000 Notre Dame 9-2 (Fiesta)
2001 Florida 9-2 (Orange)
2002 USC 10-2 (Orange)
2003 Ohio State 10-2 (Fiesta)
2005 Ohio State 10-2 (Fiesta)
2005 Notre Dame 10-2 (Fiesta)

Most people need to remember, there are other factors involved than which team is best when the Fiesta and Orange are selecting these 2-loss teams. In 1998, Kansas State finished 11-1 and was left out of the BCS.

The Big Ten Conference has placed the most teams (13) in BCS bowls. The Big 12 and Southeastern conferences each has had 11 teams in BCS bowls. In five of the eight seasons of the BCS, the Big Ten has had a team selected as an at-large team.

Florida State has played in a BCS bowl six times in eight seasons. Oklahoma, USC, and Miami, each with four BCS bowls, are second on the list.

Sports/SEC: Checking out bowls | Chattanooga Times Free Press

in his predictions, the big east doesn't go to a specific bowl, such as how the SEC goes to the Sugar, ACC to Orange, etc. is this correct? Is the big east champion just guaranteed a BCS game, but not a specific one?

BCS-Tie Ins:

Atlantic Coast Conference - Orange Bowl
Big Ten Conference - Rose Bowl
Big 12 Conference - Fiesta Bowl
Pac-10 Conference - Rose Bowl
Southeastern Conference - Sugar Bowl
