BracketMatrix was just updated. According to the brackets with results through yesterday, Tennessee is an 11 seed and not one of the last four in according to average seed (ranging from 9 to 12). Their curve looks like this:
10s: Stanford, St Joes, Arizona St, Iowa
11s: Providence, Tennessee, SMU, Xavier/Nebraska
12s: Dayton/BYU, Harvard, ND State, Stephen F Austin
Among the top ranked bracketologists from the matrix:
LoboFan (#1 ranked) has Tennessee as an 11 seed playing SMU in the play-in game
USAToday has us as an 11 seed playing Iowa in the play-in game
MidwestSportsFan has us as a 12 seed playing SMU in the play-in
Hoping the matrix is right. But if we are in the play-in game, I certainly don't want to face SMU or Iowa.
Wouldn't mind a 10 seed. The likely 7 seeds are pretty weak. An 11 might be a more favorable spot on the bracket in order to avoid a potential 2 seed until the Sweet16, but the likely 6 seeds we would play are tough: VCU, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and UK.
