Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

You can't prove me wrong. I did not say anything that was untrue. All three stopped preaching (maybe not Jesus) after they were executed.

You also said after they were arrested, which is not true. They did not obey the Sanhedrin.

Obeying your gov't and stopping worship and preaching are two different things. the teaching is to be a good citizen with regard to the laws of man. Theft, murder, taxes, etc. The Word does not teach to stop worship because you are being persecuted. I have mixed feelings over churches abandoning gathered services, but we do live in an age with an easy roundabout for that, so I am taking it in stride. I was never accustomed to cancelled services for any reason growing up. Weather. Nothing. We were there even if were only 5 or 6 others that could navigate the snow and ice. My first encounter was as an adult. Drove an hour and a half on snow covered interstate in my 4-wheel drive to services 60 miles away where I attended. Arrived to an empty parking lot. Called the preacher and asked where everyone was at. I had never experience closed doors before for any reason.

I find that I agree with so much you are posting in this thread. I really need to converse with you about your thoughts on other matters. At one time, I think we disagreed more often than not. I wonder if we've both evolved on everything or have found some common ground on this issue.
He's good people when talking local issues. Go international and that's when he is insufferable.

I get that this is a point about the Times, but hospitals have been using that drug and it’s not doing much of anything. It apparently MAY help if you take it in the very early stages of illness.
I'm seeing 1000 person studies that says differently.

And I don't disagree, if you go on a ventilator, you probably have a less than 10% chance to come off of it and get better.

As long as they adhere to the social distancing guidelines and remain in their vehicles they’re basically compliant. There is no reason for such a heavy handed government response.
My post wasn't just about remaining in vehicles. The post I replied said they shouldn't be allowed to ban services inside either. I agree with the caveat that just because you can doesn't mean you should.

I don’t have a link but it’s happening where I live now and in Knoxville..... not sure on the actually percentages but nurses are having hours cut due to getting patients getting sent home quicker to prepare for covid..... it has not come close to what they were estimating the amount of covid patients to be.
Most of the home health nurses that takes care of my mom was laid off. Only a select few running entire routes now.

Not Peter's final arrest. He and Paul were arrested under Nero's grudge against Christians and were executed.

And even during imprisonment, both wrote letters to the churches that became part of the assembled New Testament. They never complied when it came to being told to stop preaching.

I agree with you on all points.

I don’t think they should be allowed to suspend inside services either. But people should make up their own decisions on whether it’s prudent.

You must be either Baptist or C of C. Is that true?

Not that it matters. Scripture is scripture. But CoC. Just not old 1950's hardline CoC. Nice pick though. The CoC comes from my dads side back during the reformation. Family members went to Nashville, picked up some others and went to Kentucky to the tent meetings and brought it back to the farm in Cookeville. Several great grandfathers and great uncles started some congregations around here, and have pics hanging in some church buildings. Baptist/Methodist comes from my other grandparents side. Have visited, but never attended regularly.

Only a C of C would be obnoxious and legalistic enough keep on debating scripture after it was obvious there was disagreement. We constantly see it in the Bible thread.

The debate was perpetuated by you changing your answer repeatedly. I am neither obnoxious nor legalistic in my beliefs, and it is naive of you to think I am just because of my affiliation. Especially, considering I was only one of three calling you out, yet you chose me.
