Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

My question is we flatten the curve, then what? Do we get back to normal? Will this thing not spike again? If it does, do we go into lockdown and flatten again?

If not, then why are we getting back to work now....this is dumb. If we are all going to get this, then lets start with letting the healthy folks get it, because right now they aren't and we are just delaying the inevitable and committing economic suicide in the process.

That's the $64K question. JMO, I think we continue with the safety measures that we can control as individuals... wear masks, sanitize often (be a clean hands Nazi) and keep a little distance from each other. What's good for NYC isn't good for Knox county. Time to let local govts take a look at their numbers and start to relax restrictions and begin the process getting things opened up to some degree. Knox county is largely shut down over 169 cases and 4 deaths according to the TN Dept of Health website.

Let’s go a step further and get a little less conservative with the numbers. If we incurred 1.4 million deaths (85% of America infected, .5% fatality rate) from COVID-19, it would be an unimaginable tragedy and assuredly the darkest year(s) in American history.

Yet, the associated devastation would absolutely pale in comparison to the economic fallout from extending this nebulous pseudo-quarantine for an undefined period of time. This whole “play it by ear” approach to isolation and social distancing is truly nauseating and not tenable for much longer unless you actually want this country to be a total hellscape.
Big govt lovers are probably drooling at the possibilities.

Probably BS, I don't doubt a lot of people died in China but I have a feeling the cell phone thing probably has more to do with poor people being locked down. When they're locked down they can't pay their bills and when you live in a socialist I mean communist country when you can't pay your bills your social credit score goes down and you lose certain luxuries such as cell phone access

I'll say this, I certainly believe A LOT more Chinese citizens died over there than the 3,400 they're reporting. Just based on the population, I would think it is statistically impossible that number is not significantly higher knowing the way this virus behaves.

Some good videos of people hitting 100 meter targets (and more) with slugs. My eyes aren't good enough to do that, but magnum #4 buckshot is usually my first on deck.
Mossbergs are the most versatile and one of my favorites when it comes to shotguns. Goofy lyrics from the previous post was from some old gangsta rap.

Oh, gotcha! Yeah, they have good tolerances, as they've been kept pretty close to the mil specs of the GI versions.

Would you rather contract the Bubonic plague today, or in the fourteenth century?

So I assume all of the "the civil war was just about preserving valid claims of states' rights" crowd will be on here to school Trump on this, right?

So know you are also saying that he doesnt have the ability to shut down those places if he cant open them up. Meaning there wasnt anything more he could have done to mitigate the damage.

And yes he is full of crap. I just want to see if you can be consistent.

I’m all about reopening economies, but NY, NJ and CT holding a joint press conference about restarting the economy feels a little out of place. They’re clearly just trying to get out in front of any administration policy.

I don't understand. Today, obviously.

The plague killed indiscriminately as far as I know. CV primarily kills older and sick people. What is wrong with letting healthy folks get it now if they are going to get it later anyway? The vast majority will not die. And save me the anecdotal one-off stories....the statistics are clear that those with underlying conditions and the elderly are the most at risk, period. Let healthy folks go about their business and stay home when they get sick. Quarantine the sick and elderly. Build herd immunity. Get the economy going. Go back to normal.
