Facemasks? I see pictures of some doctors in China wearing basic Ebola suits tending to some patients.I never said not to take it seriously. Proper precautions should always be in place - hand washing, facemasks if coughing or confirmed ill, etc. I wouldn't recommend traveling to greater eastern Asia right now, but that's about as far as I'd recommend changing from regular operations.
This outbreak is coming from an area that has very few of the cultural / societal protective systems in place we do, coupled with an expectation of being in constant close proximity in markets and other public areas. Anything would spread like wildfire there,
We had a confirmed case of Influenza A last night. This was the only one I've seen in real trouble.The coronavirus is a novelty. More people in the US have the flu, which at this point appears to be deadlier and moving faster than the coronavirus.
It's from somewhere else, it's new, and we haven't been burnt out on coverage from it yet. This shall pass.
