Lock down to slow the curve so hospitals dont get overwhelmed, what a bunch of BS
Washington to extend coronavirus stay-at-home order ‘based on data and science,’ Gov. Inslee says
The Knoxville News-Sentinel runs the daily totals for the state and every county every day. In my county we've had about 50 positive tests out of over 100k people and 3 deaths that were really early in the shutdown and I'm skeptical of. If you look at the infection rate they are in the .03-.05% rates for infection and 1/10th of that for the death rate. Maybe it could have been worse, but to me it looks like we ruined our economy to save a few hundred people and it's going to cost us thousands in the long run.

Great job 7.

You know, normally I would roll my eyes at hanging on this, but in this case, it is warranted. It is the poster example for cherry picking data to peddle fear that went on when this virus first hit, and it continues still. Reminders of inaccuracies that contribute to overreactions are good.

“Saw some reports about execs and agents wanting to cancel season??? That’s absolutely not true,” James wrote. “Nobody I know saying anything like that. As soon as it’s safe we would like to finish our season. I’m ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be canceling anything.”

Lebron James.

What does this even mean Lebron? When will China tell you it is safe?

I agree with you. It is going overboard, but his and his ilk fear peddling warrants it. It has been utterly destructive and the MSM continues it at the detriment of our nation.

"there are Hospitals currently using this drug to successfully treat patients that are actually coming off of vents and going home"

ORLY?

Maybe it's the lovenox shot they're getting every day, maybe it's that the peep was dialed in just right. Maybe they don't have a severe comorbidity? What if them "coming off the vent and going home" was one of a thousand other variables?

Your error is the assumption that correlation equates to causation. How many people have come off the vent have recovered without the drug and with no risk of organ damage that it has been shown to cause?
I did read the study. This is immediately below the study and she has a point or two worth considering.

They have shock liver, aki and blood dyscrasias. We are also finding they are more suseptable to brain bleeds and pulmonary embolism. Reminiscent of DIC, thus no anticoagulation.
We give the drug knowing the side effects and try to navigate those obstacles. It'll be months before studies come out that are more viable.

Is there a method where medical communities communicate this type of emerging regimen? Or would you have 20 different cities/towns doing 20 different things with this one drug?
I know the other major hospital in our area is also using it. That's from nurses who work both facilities. They say their outcomes are also good.
