Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I know mine are missing very big parts of their lives. Friends, school, sports ,etc have all been taken away and they are having to deal with isolation. All the parents we talk to agree this is very hard on kids, especially younger ones

This is true, my kid goes out and rides his bike by himself now because his friend’s parents won’t let them out to play with anybody else. He won’t admit that it bothers him, but I can clearly see that it does. It really is disheartening to see.

Yes, but OTOH there is utility (and peace of mind) knowing you've already had the virus. Aside from knowing the chance of reinfection and transmission to your circle of people is low, I'd see that as value in employment: "Bill's Big Burgers -Antibody-Laden Staff Ensure Your Safe Eating Enjoyment!"
I believe there is a difference in the virus test and the antibody test.

It hurts to watch knowing how we used to live for those days as kids. My 8yo rides with his friend but on different sides of the street. Those 2 used to play every day with a football, basketball, or baseball but it's just not allowed now.

My youngest dealt with some bad anxiety issues last year and we had finally gotten past them this school year and he was flourishing. Old habits are starting to creep back in and it sucks. I'm afraid of what happens if school doesn't go back on time

The parents of The kids I was talking about said their kids are missing those things too. But they also feel they've gained in an important area too, in a way they've been thankful for. Hopefully things will get back to normal.

It is. My son is 11 and the lack of contact beyond video is really a problem. He is a boy and needs to be out playing with other boys..

When they say the supply chain is broken that makes it sound like its because of the trucking/transportation industry. When its because of all the schools, hotels & restaurants are closed their is no one taking new orders and orders already under contract can't be delivered.

My daughter is 11 and she like your son, needs to be around other kids. I play BBALL with her in the driveway when I get off work but can tell she needs some interaction with kids her age.

Man we are living the same life. Cant tell you how many times I pull up in the driveway after work and my son is shooting hoops. Had a lot of games of HORSE after work.

She loves shooting hoops. Still can't convince her to hit the weight room with dad in the morning though. If you guys put out a garden, get your son interested in it unless he is already.

So you think kids not being in class, not playing in sports, not playing with other kids at playgrounds, etc are not missing their lives? They are the ones hurting the most. Older folks can read, drink their bourbon, watch TV. Kids aren't kids without other kids.

I'm just going by what I've been told by others. Obviously the kids are missing some stuff right now but the parents I know are assuming things will get back to "normal" here soon and instead of watching The Tiger dude while sucking on a bottle of bourbon, they're riding bikes, reading the bible, doing schoolwork and building remote control model airplanes with their kids.
