Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

If that doesn't convince even his strongest supporters that Trump is actively working to undermine virus fighting efforts, I cannot imagine what would.

How have you drawn the conclusion that he's working to undermine virus fighting efforts based off of that comment? To me, it was just another dopey comment that is to be expected at this point from a president who is horrible at speaking to the press.

No, he is not 100% correct. If we didn't do as much testing, we would likely have even more people becoming ill with the symptoms of the coronavirus, because the people who have the virus but aren't symptomatic, wouldn't know to be in isolation from those who are more at risk of becoming seriously ill with it. The only thing not testing as much would accomplish is cutting down on the number of confirmed cases among those who are asymptomatic. However, that doesn't necessarily cut down on the overall number of cases - if those people who are asymptomatic are (out of ignorance) infecting other, more at risk, people.

He is correct. If we only tested the people showing symptoms our confirmed cases wouldn't be nearly as high since most people testing positive are asymptomatic.

No, he is wrong and your logic is missing an essential element. The people who have the Coronavirus but are asymptomatic can pass on the virus to other people, who are members of a more at risk population of becoming seriously ill. A key component in the fight against this virus is isolating the asymptomatic people from people who are more at risk of becoming seriously ill with the Coronavirus. An asymptomatic person wouldn't know to do that, without this testing.

Goodness man. He was taking a dig at any reporter asking the moronic question and at countries like China reporting bogus numbers.

Well on that Fauci needs to go I guess. Since he applauded remdesivir.

He did after clinical trials shows it has some effectiveness in speeding recovery. It would be irresponsible for him to say otherwise. He didn't say anything that was not in the trial outcome, and caveated that the positive effects were not terribly impressive.

NIH clinical trial shows Remdesivir accelerates recovery from advanced COVID-19

Why does everything have to be a conspiracy theory with right/left hyper-partisans these days?

You are assuming the majority of the people exposed would end up sick instead of asymptomatic.

It isnt a conspiracy. It looks to be a nothing burger from what I've seen and hardly worth his mentioning.

More Evidence that hydroxychloroquine works and the Government is shutting it down

It would mean much more danger for those who are in an at risk population (the elderly and COPD patients), if there wasn't as much testing. A symptomatic person isn't going to be walking around in public with the Coronavirus... you are much more likely to contract the virus from someone who is asymptomatic.

They are in negotiations with Rickett Benckiser to trade name it Lysol
